RJB
3-0 loss to the Earthquakes. That makes 6 goals conceded in 2 MLS matches, and 9 conceded in four if you include CCL. MLSsoccer.com has some very noteworthy stats: TFC 60.4% possession TFC 1 shot on target from 13, 8 of which were off target TFC 35 open play crosses. (a quick scan of other MLS matches shows 20 as a reasonably high number) Needless to say, the worst defensive team in MLS last year has not yet solved their woes in that department. You're not going to win the majority of MLS game you play with Maund and Harden playing at CB, and Dunfield in midfield. Hopefully Koev decides he wants to try hard at soccer again. rob.notenboom
It's quite disappointing to watch TFC boss the game for 30 or 40 minutes, create a bunch of chances and then give up a second goal on a single counter-attack. There must be better options on D. Aceval did okay at times but when push comes to shove the Aceval/Harden pairing just can't get it done. Despite his youth, Henry would likely work out significantly better here. Will Cann work when he comes back? Hard to know what he will be like after injury. Williams? I'm not convinced but it might be an improvement. Perhaps we could convince a future DP centre-back to accept a two-year contract where the 2nd year makes up the DP money that he won't get in the first year (assuming they are not going to sign DeGuz on another DP contract) ... I guess it would only be a 1.5 year contract as he wouldn't be here until July. Regardless, the team had great moments during the game and put on a lot of pressure ... and then completely broke down ... they must resolve these issues. CanadianSoccerFan
Koevermans just had the longest offseason of his career and that was probably the worst thing that could've happened at his age. Fitness is gone. Looks like a retired player you'd see in a charity exhibition match.
