tmcmurph
Well our first road win! Nicely done. It looked like we were in a 4-5-1 and 4-1-4-1 a lot whenever the GoatSh!t had the ball. Good road strategy against a team that like to pass around in their half a lot. Let them and save our energy for when we have the ball. 6 points out of 6. Now that is the way to start the season. Just bury all the ghosts from last year. Win first and go 14 without a second win? No way! Go the whole season without a road win? No way. Have our CB go the whole season without scoring a goal? No way. The sooner those got buried the better and only 2 games in and it's done! Getting all those monkeys off their back in the first 2 games bodes well for the team this year. I know Tiebert is a cardio machine but damn has he got some competition in that department from LeToux and YP Lee. Just constant pressure offensively and defensively up and down the right side all night long. Philly and Seattle were nuts to let LeToux go, just plain nuts. Glad we got him. youllneverwalkalone
Good result, but hardly a convincing performance to bury all the ghosts from last year. Chivas is horrible. Not many MLS teams will be fearing Vancouver if we play like that.
lattes
Congrats Vancouver, hopefully it keeps getting better for you, except when you play TFC, then you can... Well, let's just say I won't be cheering for you.

Soccerpro
Too bad the Canadian team lost. Chivas had more Canadians playing than Vancouver, a bit sad.
Soccerpro
This is the type of win that good teams are able to come out with. Grind it out for a win. However, the Caps were outplayed and outchanced by Chivas during the game. Opening the season against Montreal and then Chivas is a dreaming for any club to get their confidence up. dhawk11
Its going to be a long season for Chivas............and how do they still have a team, if it wasnt for their supporters groups there would have been no one at the game.......poor showing by the city of LA both on and off the field...........Go CAPS Go
tmcmurph
Was it a great game by the Caps? No. Was it good enough? Yes. Was Chivas missing some key players? Yes. Did that matter? Huge. Are the Caps world beaters? No. Did we get out posessed? Yes but mostly by letting them pass it around the back in their own half. Did we get outchanced? Yes but our keeper did what he was paid to do and kept the game at nil-nil. All in all the best thing we can say is that we got 3 points. But that is a major thing. We won't always get injury riddled teams that can't finish for opponents so it is very important to take max points off them when we do. We did. I couldn't believe the empty stands. 7700? Only if you count their jackets in the empty seats in front of them. Very poor for a major metro area like LA. Hey MLS did you catch the crowds in the Pacific Northwest, Toronto and Montreal? Very poor for a major metro area like LA. Hey MLS did you catch the crowds in the Pacific Northwest, Toronto and Montreal? That was appalling. How long can they keep going with that kind of turnout. And for those of us who would like to see the cap increased so that the league could attract better inetrnational talent, you need only look in stands for that game to realise that that could be a while away. There is such massive gap in support from market to market that this becomming the story of MLS. No other sport comes close in that regard. In about a half dozen markets, its a big time sport. In others, its minor pro. Maybe its time to move some around. And to those who were concerned about Garber's comments about no more expansion to Canada?, well there was ray of hope if you looked into the stands of that Van-Chv game. No other sport in America, at least, though attendance-wise baseball is close (some teams averaging in the 15,000, others 50,000). But loads of top flight Euro leagues have such ridiculous discrepancies in average attendance (and team quality).
