Barthez-Battalion
Fernandes was until he got hurt. Greek Superliga > NASL. Would he even say yes? Doubt it. Just another in a long line of delusional Portuguese-Canadians who think they'll get to play alongside Ronaldo.

A few years ago Tony Fonseca reached out to him and Vitoria, things have since changed and they might both be willing to join us.
tarnado1555362291
Also interested in this, he was big news and then all of a sudden the story just went cold On Cannigia Elva, I found this article, and someone with a better understanding of German could elaborate on this. Sounds like he can't play for the U19 side until he receives his Canadian citizenship, and is just training until that time. Does it say he can play for the senior squad? http://www.stuttgarter-nachrichten.de/inhalt.vfb-stuttgart-talentschau-mit-hindernissen.a1a870bf-6dd7-4795-aa59-cc1314ba95c3.html Edited November 19, 2014 by tarnado BradMack

shamrock
Yes it is strange but might have something to do with the supposed labour-agreement between Germany and Canada.
mikey_s_
Looks like Bush just re-signed in Montreal. This will be his 5th year in Canada. I guess we will see at the end of the year if both he and Floro have any interest in him playing for the national team. http://www.impactmontreal.com/en/news/2014/11/impact-signs-goalkeeper-evan-bush-new-contract
Barthez-Battalion
There are reports saying Felipe Martins could be traded to New York Red Bulls. If this happens, he'd no long be on the track to be able to represent Canada in 2017.

toontownman
Boooo. Reality is it will always be very rare players will stick in canada long enough to naturalize. Best bets are young draftees or academy products.
jpg75
So at this point the only candidate who could really help and is close to meeting eligibility is Camara.
Keegan
In 2012 I was all about Felipe for Canada but something went wrong with that guy. Was it falling in love? Or did he get too comfortable? I'm not sad to see him ineligible for Canada. Camara on the other hand would be a really, really great pickup for us in 2016. He fits quite a few holes that the MNT is lacking. toontownman
Let's hope he is still in Canada! He certainly wants to be. Warner will also be eligible by then should he stay at TFC.

It's 5 years so Warner will have to wait until 2017 and I'd hope we have better options than him.
nolando
So...who are the next longshots like the Felipes, Camilos and Camaras who we can amuse ourselves by monitoring in a list like this? Hurtado? Manneh? Anyone on FCE? And..if Opare was only slightly short of his min. time in Canada (IIRC), would he be automatically be eligible for us if he played a season in Canada? section114row20
Would Andrew Wiedeman be eligible? Although, I realize that he would be low on the pecking order, he's been in Canada since the 2012 season and just signed with Ottawa. He played 4 games with the US U-18's. Dub Narcotic
Manneh wants to play for the U.S. Hurtado would be a good addition, he's in the same class as Akindele.

Manneh had to stay in the US for a lot of the offseason to work towards his citizenship.
IceCreamMan
Figured I'd bump this thread now that Roberts and Lefavre are eligible. Camera looks like he might be a possibility next year too but hasn't played much lately.Has anyone heard of any comments from Bush or Warner? Anyone else we should be adding to the list?
