nolando
http://www.mlssoccer.com/news/article/2012/02/16/former-us-striker-johnson-inks-new-deal-mls Montreal gets first crack at him, followed by Caps, New England, and then TFC. He's still pretty young at 27 but was an astounding flop overseas and in recent performances for the USMNT. Will a Canadian side bite? http://wvhooligan.com/2012/02/16/13016/2012-mls-allocation-order/
TheKottonmouthed1555362307
Montreal should take him, they are thin up front even more so after moving Ching back to Houston.
Grizzly
It is not without risk but Johnson has too much upside not to take a chance on him especially as I imagine his salary must be pretty reasonable given recent events in his career. His European time was not a complete flop either, he had a pretty good run on loan with Aris in the Greek Superleague. Possibly his style of play is not suited to the English game. Montreal is apparently interested in a second striker (we already have former Lugano player Martins) who plays for Lugano: http://www.tribalfootball.com/articles/montreal-impact-keen-lugano-s-senger-2697351 He has impressive numbers but all in the Swiss 2nd division. Could be a good signing but I hope they are not going to overpay him considering he has not been playing at a very high level. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dante_Adrian_Senger
ThiKu
Montreal HAS to nab him - especially with Ching out the door. If they keep him, great, if not, sell him off for some real value to an American team looking to raise their own profile and sell some tickets. DontPanic
Montreal HAS to nab him - especially with Ching out the door. If they keep him, great, if not, sell him off for some real value to an American team looking to raise their own profile and sell some tickets. The only problem with taking him is that they then drop to the bottom of the order again. Who knows the next "star" to return. If they want him take him..if they don't maybe convince the next team in line or so to trade something in exchange for the pass?
youllneverwalkalone
IMO, the only "stars" who are possible to return are Ricardo Clark, Michael Parkhurst, Brad Guzan and Marcus Hahnemann. Maybe some of the guys from Mexico. Jay Demerit indicated that he spoke with Bocanegra, who fully intends to remain in Europe for the forseeable future. rob.notenboom
http://www.canadiansoccernews.com/content.php?2821-Impact-select-Johnson Looks like Montreal have him but not for long. Any ideas/rumours on who they will get in a trade?
Kurosawa1555362267
Lamar Neagle and Mike Fucito are the players Montreal get for EJ. Nice move I think!
