Haber starting upfront v Rangers. He scored but was ruled out (rightfully) for offside. Rangers 1 0 up but Haber has been involved well through reading the match action, and a reporter at the stadium said he was having a good game

Just arrived back in T.O. Uccello is working hard to get back into game shape. From what I have seen he appears ready to be part of the squad back to about 30-45 minutes, He certainally is one of the better ones in attack for that one spot up front but there are 9 attackers there of which he is using 5 for games in the line up.

Not a good situation at this moment for littlebird but being his worst critic he is the better one to have the Job up front with out a doubt. It think it really depends how they feel and maybe will wait for his moment and time to insure he has a good 90 to play. Its diffcult to know what, how and when and specially lots pressure from the tifosi specially lookng for a win today that could paint another picture as well.

we will see.

Its has been annouced Robert Stillo has been added on loan from Genoa to Paganese Calcio in C2B this annoucement was made on their official Web site of the team. Good luck to him in the second half of the season Im sure he will see better times with this team maybe tommorrow he get his first start with his new teammates....

Kick ass

Steven Vitoria scored a hat-trick this morning (two on penalties!). His team seems to be in really good shape to get promoted to the top division. I know that there was some discussion about him a while back, but I have to say, I don't care how much he rejected us in the past, he's 25, hasn't been called by Portugal at the senior level, and could add some much needed depth to our MNT.

Edgar signed a 1 year extension with Burnley.

seems as though Edgar had a little offensive flair today. They are close to the top 6 now....starting to smell promotion.

Guardian: The 18-year-old's first task was to pick the ball out of the net as Burnley took a sixth-minute lead with a goal straight from the training ground. David Edgar dummied Ross Wallace's corner for Rodriguez to drill in his 14th goal of the season.

Hoilett, Jackson and Haber all seemed to have decent games today - Haber had one disallowed, but also put the header down that hit Bocanegra and went in.

Nice day for Canucks in the old country

If he hadn't rejected us in order to play for Portugal in an international tournament held in Canada, I might've been able to agree with you. As that's not the case, I've got no use for him.

Well, if people are ready to welcome JDG2 back with open arms I think someone like Vittoria, IF good enough, should also be accepted. We could split hairs about their respective situations back in 2007 but both of them still rejected Canada U-20 MNT call-ups because they wanted to play for a top European country.

I totally disagree. JDG2 had lived in Holland for 7-8 years before he decided against playing for Canada. I don't believe he represented Holland at the U20 level either.

Vitoria turned Canada downto represent Portugal in a tournament held in Canada after having grown up IN CANADA. Vitoria only lived in Portugal for a year or so as well. Vitoria is a disgrace. I have no time for him.

Here's an idea - post it in a portuguese fan forum. They don't care about him? No, well neither do we.

That's why I spoke about splitting hairs about their respective situation.

JDG2 wasn't eligibile to play for Holland when he refused Canada call. IMO, that's also a disgraceful thing to do, waiting for a better option to arrive.

You could also say that Vittoria probably had more ties to Portugal growing up than JDG2 had with Holland (unless I'm mistaken they are no Dutch in JDG2 familly).

IMO, both have acted digracefully toward Canada to a very high extent. Yes, their situations weren't similar on all points but they both rejected Canada and I don't see why we should be welcoming JDG2 with open arms while spitting on Vittoria. The fact that one of them would probably improve our team and the other wouldn't have the same impact isn't in consideration for me.

I disagree. At least JDG2 had lived in the country he pretended to be more apart of for more than a year. 7-8 years is a long time to an 18 year old, so I don't see it as splitting hairs. The fact that vittoria slapped Canada in the face for an U20 tourney in our country does in my mind make it worse. He is scum and I want nothing to do with him.

I'm not going to pretend that the JDG2 situation is perfect bc it isn't. But at the end of the day, I sweat Canadian success and if he can make us better so that in 10 years we can actually tell someone of his stature to piss off bc he disrespected us, then I will be a very happy man. I'm not proud that I will make an exception but it is what it is. I can stomach someone disrespecting us (as JDG2 has) bc he will make us much much better, but I can't take this Vitoria Twunt bc he isn't significantly better than what we can offer.

Double standard - yes. Regrettably understandable - I hope so.

Is he a 6 ft 5 inch Center Back? There was mention of Hart contacting him (with mutual interest) before his 21st birthday (old FIFA rules). I'm not against bringing in talent, youth and depth at any position on the team. I think performance is more important than individual personalities unless those personalities undermine performance. So the question is, would his addition add to the team? I would think in a depth capacity it would be a shrewd move.

Jonathan moved to Holland as a 12 yr old in 1999 and turned down a chance to play for Canada's U16 team in 2002 at the age of 15. That's only 3 years and he was already waiting to play for Holland.

BTW, Dasovic approached Vitoria about switching for the U23 qualifiers in 2008 and Vitoria was interested, but had already turned 21 in January 2008 and therefore was no longer eligible.
