Simeon Jackson scored a 90+4 Equalizer for Norwich City today (subbed in at 69) in their match with Fulham at home.

Hoilett didn't even make the bench for Blackburn today.

Not much point being on the bench when he has a hamstring injury which I'm sure you'll remember from the Liverpool match.

Looks like Jackson gets his motivation and humble nature from flipping burgers at McDonalds

"The fear of seeing Ronald McDonald’s picture every day drives me on"

How often do the British dailies fit TWO Canadian internationals into one article?

"Ex-Spurs boss Jol said: “[Henry] is a legend. I played against him with Spurs and he was always making the difference.

“Like at Highbury, when he outplayed Paul Stalteri and scored the equaliser. It’s not a happy memory."

Is the first line of that article possibly the worst pun of 2012 to date?

SIMEON JACKSON once worked in McDonald’s – so it was no surprise to see him celebrate his goal with relish. :)

edgar getting huge props from burnley fans....he has in their words gone from a bench player to indispensable....they almost to man think he has solidified his spot in the team and has been one of their best performers over the last month....many have given him MOM for the last 2 games.

he has matured a lot this season in their opinion....finally getting a good long run at his natural position has made him a different player.

Jackson in starting lineup as Norwich - QPR gets under way.

And now Simeon guaranteed the full '90 as Norwich makes triple sub in 66th minute of Morison, Hoolahan, and Fox for Drury, Holt, and Lappin.

Norwich completes another comeback to win 2-1 as sub Morison scores in 83rd minute. This seems to be the way with Norwich this year - whoever comes on as a sub scores the big goal. Maybe it would be better if Jackson continued to come in late:)! Honestly though, its great to see him get a full 90, he truly deserves it.

Hume missed Preston's match with Rochdale today, a 1-1 draw which featured a young player (Jake Jervis) in on a one-month loan for Birmingham in his place. As reported lat week, he came out injured in the 31st min of a 2-0 New Year's Eve loss to Sheffield Wednesday.

With only one win in their last five, PNE are six point out of a playoff promotion place.

Good to hear, hes finally starting to fulfill the potential so many saw in him. Hopefully he can continue to play and improve and become a rock for us.

Seen the second half.

Jackson had a decent game, I don't think he gave the ball away cheaply. Also, on one play Jackson received a pass to his feet and spun past his mark (anton ferdinand?) with one touch. He then ran at the QPR defence but failed to see an open Wes Hoolahan to his right, and was bumped off the ball by the other QPR centre back inside the box.

Overall he was decent, I would say 6.5 out of 10. He never really combined with Holt. Both strikers instead looked to either keep possession, or get a head onto a cross in the box. Neither has the individual skill to create something out of nothing, but both are predators, looking to sniff out any loose balls and capitalize on mistakes.

^ I watched the whole match and 6.5 is being generous. The commentator described Simeon in the first half as "peripheral" whereas I would have called it invisible. His second half was marginally better, and you are right, when he turned Ferdinand that was nice but jackson really needs to improve if he wants to get many more opportunities from Lambert.

yeah, not a good game from jackson....it will probably put him back on the bench, but hopefully he stays as the first offensive substitute.....the good thing is that norwich don't have a set line up of stars up front...its a bit of score by committee....

at least they won....a harsh red card i thought.

^ I agree, and when I said he needs to improve to get more opportunities I meant in order to get more opportunities to play 90 mins. I do still think he will be called upon as a late substitute but he didn't show much to say he deserves more starts. Admittedly, it was his first 90 in the premiership, so hopefully he will be given a few more chances to play 90 mins and he steps up and performs. Who knows, maybe he'll have another late season run of goals like last season.

I don't think Jackson had a great game by any stretch of the imagination but I also don't think it was as poor as others think! He had a half volley in the first half that just missed the keepers left post, it would have been a fabulous goal had he been a touch more accurate, there were times in the second half playing against 10 men where he had run into good open spaces only for his team mates to either pass the ball too late or not recognize the run at all! As mentioned, the Canaries were playing against 10 men for a good chunk of this match and when Lambert made a triple substitution in the second half to try to win the match, Jackson was left on, that may say something of what the gaffer thought about Jackson's performance!

I've never seen Holt and Jackson link up well, which is funny given their history. Even when he scored, it came after a good twenty-minute run of Holt hammering the ball where Jackson wasn't and Jackson never even looking for Holt. (One of Sim's weaknesses, and if I wanted to play boy coach I'd say it came from the relatively low level of his early career: he has a very poor eye for the pass.)
