Hopefully I can redeem myself by reporting that Peters is apparently going to Chelmsford City FC (Conference South) on loan:

Totally appalling if true and any longer than a month. Hate to sound like a knee-jerk guy here but why not come to MLS in 2012, even on loan like Eckersley, if this is all that can be arranged for a hard-working young Championship/Lg 1 calibre player?

Another link of Hoilett to Spurs today - would have read that on one of the major sights, but it was more about historical interest than current.

Although it was confirmed that Man City's directors asked Mancini to sign Hoilett this past summer and Mancini said no.

That move would have been terrible for Hoilett.

Is that the general concensus, that he's a hard working player, seemingly not getting a break?

Disgusted at this if true, will find out later today. Just further confirmation for me that Jewell should be sacked cause they've been playing bollocks

Hard to say, and Brethers probably has a better handle on things, but the fan forums seem to be split on him quite evenly (as we are here) between those who see a guy who has 99 matches for the club and still has never been able to lock down a position and should move on, and those who see him as a decent squad player who should get a chance to play in the center of midfield. Most seem to think Peters at RB is not a great idea. He's a lot like our version of Freddy Adu, IMO.

From my perspective, based on others' observations I have read about over his career, this is a guy with talent/athletic gifts who is nonetheless underachieving. That to me may indicate a work ethic issue, I don't know, or he simply can't bring his game to the next level. It's quite possible that if he came to MLS he might underachieve as well, who knows.

Nope, what I forgot to mention is that he is almost universally hailed as being a guy who plays his heart out for the club, one of the only who is felt to be wearing the shirt with honour at the moment. Like Hume in a Canada shirt. Which really surprised me , because I had the same impression as you that perhaps Jaime was a fast talented kid with an ego and a work ethic issue, but that just doesn't fit his reputation at all at Ipswich. At his age and given his many opportunities, more are questioning his actual ability now.

I am sceptical this is going to bring you very much redemption. I highly suspect this is complete BS, posted by some idiot on an Ipswich forum to cause some sh-it. There is no link to any reputable source. This is well below even the types of rumours one finds on Transfermarkt, at least there there has to be some sort of source to a rumour. Chelmsford is playing in the 6th division, and are pretty much out of the race for the automatic promotion spot to the Conference National. They will probably qualify for the playoffs but that is still only a 1 in 4 chance of promotion. Why on earth would they invest the type of money to bring in a player of Peters calibre and salary level? Why would Ipswich loan him to a team at this level? Why would Peters agree to play at that level? Even if fans are split 50/50 on whether he should be a starter with Ipswich, his recent loan to Bournemouth, an upper table team in League 1, was by all accounts a success and Bournemouth apparently wanted to renew the loan but were refused by Ipswich who wanted him back. And now he is going to be loaned out to a 6th division team that isn't even in that great of a promotion position?

This makes absolutely no sense and quite honestly is the type of rumour that should not be posted on the Voyageurs unless some sort of credible source can be provided. If this type of stuff is posted here it will give credence to BS and make our forum useless as a source of reliable information or even credible rumours.

haha no pressure. I haven't really heard of much else other than the previously posted thread, but I will keep my eyes peeled. I will say that whenever I saw him play he always gave his all and never looked lazy, the theory from me and my dad is that his workrate in training may be poorer or he has something outside of football holding him back (for example he likes going out clubbing or something similar). Whenever a new manager has come in Peters has been left out in the cold, only to work his way back into the team and be on of the better performers. when he played against Arsenal last year, he had Arshavin in his pocket, it was a maginificent game from Jaime. I think the fact that the championship has gone back to 5 sub benches has limited his opportunities as well

ESPNSoccernet has Newcastle lining up a bid for Hoilett

http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story/_/id/1007089/newcastle-lining-up-bid-for-blackburn's-hoilett?cc=5901

This is the best rumour I have seen yet in terms of what makes sense for both team and player. David would go to a top-10 team where he would see plenty of PT. Bolton? He would get playing time, but no Premiership security. Spurs? He would be second choice to Lennon, second choice to Defoe (as Super Sub) and then he could be frozen out if Redknapp wants to be conservative and play two holding mids and then just tell the front 4 to "f*cking run around a bit*

that would be the perfect scenario in my opinion.....newcastle is a great environment to play and he wont have to worry about being replaced if he doesnt score for 3 games the way he would at spurs....

man i hope he commits to canada because i really want to cheer for him wholeheartedly week in and week out.....i dont want to get too emotionally involved with his career only to be let down in the future.

+1 I'm hesitant to post anything about him because to me he really isn't Canadian until he wears our National Team shirt in a match! He can drape himself with the Canadian flag all he wants over in England and the press can refer to him as Canadian but I'm still skeptical as to whether he will ever play for us!

I think Newcastle is a bad move. How many players actually improve that go there? How many players leave Newcastle as better players? I think it's a bit of a black hole.

Although it appears that some players leave Newcastle worse off (Andy Carroll), some players raise their stock (Demba Ba), but in Hoilett's case I think a move to Newcastle is better than Sprus, Stoke or Bolton (who are surely to get relegated).

With Spurs, there is the playing time issue. As much as I would like to see him go there, I find it hard to imagine him getting a fair share of minutes with Bale and Lennon on the wings (who is now healthy again). Even Defoe comes off the bench for them and poor Giovanni Dos Santos can barely see the field.

With Stoke, he could be a replacement for Jermaine Pennent who is rumored to be on his way out, and Hoilett would play regularly. But then again, they play very direct and I am not sure that will play to Hoilett's stregths or not. So that would be a decent move, but I feel that Newcastle play better football and frankly they are a bigger club and my money would be on them qualifying for Europa League next season rather than Stoke.

Newcastle would be the better choice. Hoilett>Obertan. Hoilett more consistent than Arfa but not a better player. Hoilett>Sam Ameobi and I suspect also Shola.

Going to Spurs would be a good money move, but I can't speak about if Newcastle can or would pay as much salary as Spurs. However, all are correct. He'd have some trouble with consistent playing time at Spurs, not to mention he plays down the left channel which a certain Welsh player inhabits. I suspect he plays on the left specifically so he can cut in field and create or score based on the number of assists and the few goals he has this year.

Stoke would just right piss me off. I can't wait until they get relegated and a proper team moves up!

Rumours reemerging regarding Hainault to Montreal in today's Superdraft:

11:06am: Rumors abound that Montreal is trying to entice Houston to part with Andre Hainault in exchange for the quick return of Brian Ching and Montreal's #1 pick. We've already covered Ching's upside for Houston or anywhere else he plays, but this swap seems like a stretch.
