It's tough to find transfer news, or rumours, involving Canadian players ... I saw something involving a potential Rob Friend move, and now Milan Borjan might also move, I suppose, so it would be nice to have all of these pieces of info in one place.
The New Mother Of All Canadians Abroad

If a few morons would stop posting useless babble there, you might have found the thread much easier to locate. That thread and its raison d'etre have been around since Jesus was a carpenter but a select few don't understand it's purpose and the news you are looking for gets lost in the shuffle.

I do look at the MOACA, but I didn't realize that this was it's raison d'etre ... that's probably my fault. I had heard of the Hainault to Ligue 1 rumours (Bordeaux, I believe), but amazingly not about this:

As a Montreal-er, this would be awesome, seems extremely unlikely ... Houston's not crazy!

Good article in French from last week. When asked, Hainault said he didn't want to leave Houston, but if he had to go somewhere else, it would be Montreal. Also comments on the Hart conflict from the fall:

If there is transfer news regarding our top players or prospective top players, i'd rather read it in a separate thread.
The Moaca is a also a historical timeline. If transfer news is posted in a separate thread then it falls off the front page and is lost. Personally, my opinion is, if it is big news (ie Simpson to Liverpool) a separate thread is warranted (for discussion) as long as the news brief is also in the Moaca to help those who keep track and may have missed the separate thread.

The Moaca is one stop shopping, all transfer news should be there.

I though the MOACA was for finite transfer news, not rumours. But none-the-less, I like the idea of this thread
I hope you don't mean this thread we're in because that would be a third thread (along with the MIA thread) that people are confusing for the MOACA. If you tried to keep track of this stuff (and be up to date and accurate) it's hard enough to track through the MOACA without adding two more threads to the mix.

The BBC were heating up the Hoilet to Spurs rumor again the other night. They said Harry was looking at him as a replacement for Lennon while he is out injured. Could be a good move if he actually gets some playing time and doesn't end up like Pienaar.

This is exactly the kind of news that deserves to be separated from MOACA and what i was getting at earlier.

He says that Hart has not spoken with him since he turned down the invitation. I find this pretty poor form on Hart's part, especially after publicly saying he was disappointed in Hainault after a history of being pretty diplomatic and lenient with other players who have made similar decisions. I am not particularly impressed by Hart's coaching abilities but if there was one skill he was giving the impression of excelling at it was in personal relations with the players. I hope this is not the start of discord between Hart and some of the players because from what I have seen if it wasn't for Hart getting along with most of the players and being able to call more less our best players I don't think he offers us much.

Sorry, I guess I should clarify, I like the idea of this thread to keep track of transfer rumors for this upcoming transfer window in January, rather than bog down the MOACA/MIA threads with "22% chance of occurring" rumors like Friends etc

Can anyone keep an eye on the Cesar Santamaria lad? He is a youngster playing in Central America. These are the kind of players we should be signing more and more. I wish there were more latino youth coaches/clubs in Canada so we were shuffling players off to those countries moreso than say, England, Scotland, etc. Simply because of the region we are in for WCQ.

It's hard to argue with Hainault's logic either, he basically says if I lose my spot with Houston I'm not gonna get called for Canada anymore so skipping out on the Canada game is something that may help him in the future.

Looks like hoilett is on his way out, hopefully he will make a decision on his international future in the near future

One hopes that once he gets his club situation settled in the next few months he will be in a position to declare for Canada.

If that's the way the thread is intended, then start a new one and lock it. That way it can only be updated by the original poster or moderators when there is some firm transfer news to update it with. Keep the existing thread as the free for all discussion.

Looks like he has already made up his mind based on this report. lol

Manager Steve Kean needs to sell to fund his rebuilding and Tottenham and Stoke are among Canada international Hoilett's firm admirers.

The UK announcers have quite rightly been referring to him as Canadian International the last two seasons.

Typically the use of "international" in that context, means capped. So it is not quite correct. Although, as of yet, he can be considered nothing other than Canadain.

Jaime Peters was mentioned the other day in an article about Keano weighing offers for one of Ipswich's senior players. Could be Peters as he is mentioned as not being a solution to their ongoing RB woes and he hasn't played regular football in ages now.

The Blues manager says offers have been received and that it’s a potential short-term switch which is receiving most attention: “More the loan offer we have at the moment for one of our senior players.

“We might have to do that, it depends. If I’m after a certain signing where the player we’re after is only a loan deal, we have to balance the books with the wages. I think I said that last summer as well, which is why we missed out on one or two senior players.”

The Blues boss has outlined his targets and says he has two or three specific names he wants to join the club, ideally on a permanent basis: “We certainly need another striker into the club, Connor Wickham’s had a lot of injuries and another of our strikers, Rory Fallon, is only on loan and that expires in a few weeks.

“With Gianni getting called back, we’ve had players doing a job for us at right-back, whether it was Troy Brown or Jaime Peters, but these boys aren’t right-backs.

Is that article not from a year ago? Mentions Connor Wickham who's at Sunderland now.
