I didn't realize that Hundal was a CIS rookie this year (won CW Rookie of the Year, in addition to his tournament MVP!)

I found a couple of highlight videos from the men's and women's games and did a brief writeup of both (more attention paid to the women's, as it featured my hometown Queen's Gaels!).

That was a fun way to spend a cool, drizzly Sunday afternoon. They announced at the game that the attendance was just over 3,000. Kinda sad that the TV cameras faced the wrong way, the main stand was full and very loud. I will be looking forward to seeing Gorman play another season with the Highlanders and what a dream it would be to sign Hundal.

I was at the UVic / Mtl game on Thursday night. The crowd was good and loud.

Track stadiums sure do suck for soccer.

Those commenting on #23 Cam Hundal for Victoria are correct - this guy is GOOD. He is the type of player who FC Edmonton should be looking at, and if they don't hopefully Victoria Highlanders are looking at him.

Part one of the series is out. This is a very basic summary of how things work and what the rules are in CIS soccer recruiting.

Future articles will include information on:

* What to look for in a program (athletic and academic)

* How RMC deals with recruiting into the military

* The experiences of current CIS university athletes

Any comments, questions, things to add or expand on, or requests for further articles on the subject are more than welcome!

He's listed on the Whitecaps prospects' wikipedia page under current roster.

Anyhow, I hope his parents don't get in his way to achieve athletic success.

After an unfortunate and long delay, part 2 in the series on CIS recruiting is up now.

How a prospective student-athlete should go about choosing the right university for them:

A few "real life" things got in the way, including moving to a new job, but I'm working on getting back onto a "normal" schedule again.
