Hard Canadian
The CSA has released an iPhone and iPad application for all levels of the national team(s) today. The application is free to download and it is looking great! It is very easy to use and has 8 different categories to navigate through: Matches, Teams, News, Tickets, Twitter, Facebook, Videos and Photos. http://www.canadasoccer.com/news/viewArtical.asp?Press_ID=5056 Enjoy! Admin
It's free. It was free to develop? If it's ad driven and the developers did it on their own then cool...
Grizzly
It was free to develop? That's what I meant. If it's ad driven and the developers did it on their own then cool... I don't agree with you that it is a waste of money. I doubt it cost that much to develop and apps are a big part of marketing yourself these days and relatively cheap compared to more traditional means. I would hope they are also developing an Android version of this as well.
Guest Ed
^ Not to mention one for that Cdn company's product!
Keegan
I think this is a great move, it probably cost little to develop and it will give coverage to people and remind them that we exist. I'm sure the featured content will be done by our friend Max anyways so it's a positive move.

Unless they just cranked something out of an app mill. I highly doubt they will do anything other than deliver web content via an app. Which they should deliver.... via their website. Make a mobile version of their site and it works on almost everything. What happens when Ipod/Iphon/ipad in the next version, after that... add in Android and span that over tablets and different OS versions. With just two OS iterations and five form factors...how many will they support and how much will it cost to keep it up to date? Focus on putting every single player, parent, coach and administrator in the country on the CSA twitter account. I don't know the details on how it came about but we would be way better off with better web content delivered to the largest possible audience. Lets start by making a poster for World Cup Qualifying that isn't a complete embarrassment.
smartlikefox
Now if they can just correct the upcoming match starting times in the app, it would be that much better.

No idea why anyone who on this board would ever knock it. keep up the good work new hire I'm knocking it because I don't believe what is ultimately web content, though I could be wrong, being delivered through apps that will need to be supported. Add in Android and Blackberry. Add in a couple of OS iterations, phone and tablet form factors and the cost and maintenance of this could go quite high. Maybe it won't. Maybe they have some kind of interesting deal here. I don't know, but I want to find out.
