tyler453
If this is true, I would imagine it would be played in Tunisia due to the close proximity of where most of our players play. This would be a good game to see though. Good test for the boys in red.
jonovision
If this match is confirmed, it would mark the second time Canada has played Tunisia. They last played in Tunis in 1984, a 2-0 loss. The match seems to have been part of a friendly tour of North Africa and the Mediterranean, during which Canada also took on Algeria, Morocco and Egypt (all losses) and Cyprus (a draw). Sam
Decent quality opponent in a tough away environment - I like it!
GoalieGrey
I'd definitely like to see this matchup take place...quality opponent away from home, and not terribly far for many of the Euros to have to travel...are there any other FIFA friendly dates around this time that we could use to schedule another match over there as well? Kezmancccc
this sounds like a good match up.... tunisia is a good nation to play....
TFCRegina
While it's a tougher country, I'd prefer more matches against Latin American sides than African and European sides.
Tuscan
Tunisia is currently ranked 57th by FIFA, and 10th in Africa. This will be a tough match, and will hopefully help the boys get some experience playing in what I'm sure won't be a friendly environment. I like the exoticness of this match, Tunisia just sounds exotic and cool. I'd love to go, wonder what flights from Saskatoon to Tunis would run

TFCRegina
Care to share where you found this? Likely the CSA, since VPjr is a president and owner of a semi-professional football club in southern Ontario.
TFC07
I think it will be better if Canada played against a team from South America like Columbia and/or CONCACAF team like Costa Rica to help them get ready for third round.
RS
I think it will be better if Canada played against a team from South America like Columbia and/or CONCACAF team like Costa Rica to help them get ready for third round. A single midweek international date means any match on that day will take place in or near Europe.
nolando
I've said it before - why not play Jamaica in a smaller stadium in or near London?
loyola
I've said it before - why not play Jamaica in a smaller stadium in or near London? Probably because it's cheaper to play an European side at their stadium. No fees to rent the stadium (not sure how much this could cost).
VPjr
I've said it before - why not play Jamaica in a smaller stadium in or near London? This is not a cost effective option....wouldn't likely be feasible for either nation.
Free kick
Plus, the home side in a friendly usually pays the appearance fees as well as the costs for the visitors. Its is more financially advantagous for the CSA to play away. Tunisia looks like a good opponent for Canada.

Sam
Jamaica still owes us a home friendly for the game we played over there at the start of 2010... as does Iceland to be fair but that was five years ago now.
