Canada1
Canada should and will advance out of round two. The question is will they do it in style and build confidence going into round three. Anything less than 6 straight wins is not good enough at this level. St Lucia, P R and St Kitts are not at the same level as Canada and really should not pose any threat. The only team that can beat us is ourselves. Enjoy tonights match. I expect a lop sided win.
ken
I think for this round the most important thing is to move to the next round, behind that is to learn how to win when you are expected to win, how to consistently beat the minnows and not put themselves in place where they have to win difficult games on the road. How many times over the last few qualifying campaigns have we found ourselves in a place where we had to go into Panama or Honduras or where ever and win because we had dropped points at home by giving up an easy goal and turning a win into a tie or even worse a loss. If we are expected to win on the road, then learn how to do so, we all want to see the friendlies against top competition but the truth is our qualifying takes place with hostile crowds at home and boarderline tactics by the opposition at their stadiums where the officials are cowed into acquiecence by their crowds. Nothing can teach how to suceed against that other than doing it. My hope is that we get the boneheaded back passes the 40 yard shots leading to soft goals and the lack of familiarity leading to miscommunication out of the way this round so that we don't do it as part of the feeling out process next round. That and once we have locked the qualification to the next round start introducing as many young players as possible so as to make the talent pool as large as possible.
