Prof
Today I ended my subscription to the Toronto Star, when asked why I told them that I am sick and tired of their lack of TFC coverage. The fact that we are in the soccer season but rarely get any team coverage and absolutely no player profiles is insulting, especially when we are still getting Leaf coverage in July and August. I encourage everyone to do the same.

CanadianSoccerFan
On a related note, I was shocked to open the weekend edition of the Globe & Mail this morning and find the first three pages of the sports section including the entire front page were 100% soccer with multiple in depth domestic stories. 10 years ago I couldn't dream of that. Guest darowaan
Only Toronto paper that I find does a half decent job is the Sun. Kurt Larson normally gets a page or so to talk TFC and other interesting stuff. Still nothing compared to the coverage they give to the Leafs, Jays, or even the Raps though

Still nothing compared to the coverage they give to the Leafs, Jays, or even the Raps though I'm not an avid reader of the Sun but I've picked it up a couple times when I'm out for lunch and have noticed their TFC coveraged has been pretty good. I was shocked. Their CFL coverage was ridiculous, I think it was 5-6 pages!
Loud Mouth Soup
I'm not an avid reader of the Sun but I've picked it up a couple times when I'm out for lunch and have noticed their TFC coveraged has been pretty good. I was shocked. Their CFL coverage was ridiculous, I think it was 5-6 pages! They spend 5-6 dissecting a single Leaf game. Then there's the additional 5-6 for other pointless Leaf stories. Then there's the day after a game...
lattes
Give it time gentlemen. Football is only really starting to catch on here, drive around Toronto and you will see dozens of empty baseball diamonds that on any Sunday will have pick up football games going in the 'outfield' If you want to further the cause start up your own pick up games, flyer your neighborhood to get kids out to them. Go coach, be a part of it. You may have an impact on kids you will never know about. And yes, call/write your paper/tv channel/radio station and tell them you want more football. Juby
god, I would be fine with the amount of coverage if half of it wasn't cathal kelly's 'Entertainment Tonight - Soccer Edition'. Seriously, any topic a real soccer fan is annoyed by too much coverage of (beckham, christiano ronaldo, Man U, *sigh* the royal wedding *sigh*, and today, he's discovered the Joey Barton contreversy over a half decade after I started ignoring it) he's covering in spades. And their's no real insight, he talks on like 5 sports and sounds like a casual fan in all of them. Who gave him the mic!? Imagine how decent the coverage might be if we could drop 'the man crush of the week' segement or whatever off pitch drama has his gossip gland swelled up. Seriously, he get's huge half page articles...and has no idea what he's talking about...ever. He's not funny, he's not interesting, his topics are about as original and interesting as whole wheat flour, except that whole wheat flour is at least occasionally useful. Furthermore his writing on non soccer topic is about the same. You can tell when someone has a passion for soccer or sports in general because they will come up with something unique or insightfull every now and then. Something that comes from thought or thinking about sports or a desire to seek out information. with him it sounds like it "well i gotta write something by such date or time" so let me put together something. No better example than piece he wrote suggesting Sidney crosby should retire. Soccer coverage is terrible at the Star. i have contemplated that their objective is to shill for other professional sports in town. In five years there hasnt been anything in star on soccer that was new, original or unique.
