Now I hate Leon Barnett. Surely just ruined Simeon's chances of getting on

What, you don't think a team down to 10 men nursing a lead will bring on a 5'9 striker?

Hopefully Simeon gets the start in their Carling Cup game on Tuesday (against MK Dons)

Haber gets the last 20 mins or so against Celtic. I think he was upfront as the lone target man. They held out for a 1-0 win, Marcus came on after they had scored

I don't think it got mentioned, but Atiba Hutchinson got on for the last 21 minutes in PSV's 3-0 win over ADO Den Haag.

This is why it's funny that it's already assumed (as Hart himself suggested) he's out of our WCQ squads for the fall. Like it's pre-arranged or something.

I'm a little pissed off if that's true this is our prep time and he's a key player

No small feat: St Johnstone recorded their first win at Celtic Park since 1998

Although I'm disappointed he didn't start, I actually find this more promising news than the Simeon late sub as throwing Marcus in away to Celtic and up 1-0 to me says that they think a hell of a lot about him, while Simeon's were your typical 5 minutes or so of garbage time (during which they were scored on). I'm actually wondering if we might see Haber in a squad or two in the fall. The fact he is seemingly being groomed for RW must have Hart curious at the very least.

Maybe not in September because of him just getting fit but I'd bet we see him October

Have to expect an SPL'er will be involved in this round of qualifiers at some point, if not for the first matches.

Marcus - to his credit, twittere'd about the result!

Here's hoping Simeon is given the time and all....didn't he start mostly as a sub last year too? I guarantee he'll be more effective than Vaughn, who hasn't scored in...2 years?

A start is a start - it's a long season, and let's not forget that Simeon was NOT one of the guys dropped over the summer, unlike that year with Fullham and Pesch.

What about Haber and Simeon playing together - seems like some chemistry could come of that - speed and height?

As for Hutch - he came on for a forward late in the game - probably to reinforce the midfield.

Didn't see a Tippeligaen update so here goes...

Chris Pozniak (FK Haugesund) starts in a left midfield role against Rosenborg in a 2-2 home draw; comes off in the 58th minute when FKH is 2-0 down. His substitute Thomas Sørum scores 6 mins after Poz goes off.

Lars Hirschfeld (Valerenga) starts yet again and wins 2-0 at Sarpsborg 08. Solid game for Lars in goal.

.

Crazy to read that the last time St. Johnstone won at Celtic it was none other than Nik Dasovic who scored the match's only goal:

"It was there for all to see on page 10 of the Parkhead match programme – details of St Johnstone’s last win in the East End of Glasgow.

It was way back in 1998 and a goal from Canadian Nick Dasovic proved to be the only one of the game, giving Saints an unlikely success against the then reigning champions. Thirteen years later and a Canadian was again among those celebrating a single goal Perth success at cavernous Celtic Park.

Replacement Marcus Haber played a key role after his 71st minute introduction, holding the ball up superbly and losing hardly a challenge. But he wasn’t the match winner."
