Alberto7 Posted July 16, 2011 Share Posted July 16, 2011 Laval Cometes beat the Rochester Ravens 4-1 on the strength of 3 first half goals scored in the first seven and a half minutes(including the first one at 51 seconds). Rochester got one back in the 20th minute or so. Laval scored another in the 59th minute. The game was very physical but for the most part clean. Rochester's defense was dreadful at the start with two mistakes leading to the first two goals. The Rochester keeper made at least three point blank saves on breakaways during the game. If not for her, the score would have been embarrassing. With the win Laval move into second place. I believe they will play Quebec during the division playoffs which will be held in Ottawa next weekend. Very, very impressed with no. 8 on the Cometes, Constance de Chantal Dumont who played her heart out. No. 11 Vanessa Legault-Cordisco and no. 10 Catherine Charron-Delage each scored a goal in the win. I don't remember the others who scored. Overall very intense game to watch. Rochester had a player who looked to be about 4' 8" or so(no. 5 Carolyn Rivett) She played well but looked out of place next to the other players.
