Further to that, staying in the Central. You have to expect that playing two games in two days will be too much for TO to overcome their 2-4-4 season to date, and that Ottawa will hold on to play their perfect regular season meaning Toronto loses the 2 seed and drops to 4th for a rematch a week later, and Quebec and Laval play themselves into a matchup for the other final spot in the Central Finals.

What a fun time of year. Still lots to play for in the Central. That's how I see it breaking down, though.

In the East, only Atlanta has wrapped up a place in the conference finals there. Virginia Beach, currently sitting in third in the Atlantic division are in tough with games against Atlanta and 2nd place Charlotte, on the road, over two days to finish their season. They do control their own fate with a game at hand. Tough to call, there. In the Northeast a New Jersey derby could be the decider for the Wildcats away to the Valkyries, but, Long Island control their own fate at home against the New York Magic.

Out West, Seattle has locked up one of the Final Four slots as hosts. A win for Vancouver, on Friday against the Colorado Force at home, ensures their position. Santa Clarita can lock up their chance to play Vancouver in the Conference Final there.

It's fun sorting these things out late in the season. I still can't find locations on the West, nor East Conference finals, though. Anyone?

So the Final Four is set.

Ottawa Fury will face Toronto Lady Lynx.

Quebec City Amiral will face Laval Comètes.

Josée Bélanger played Québec's last match. She played less than a quarter hour as a sub. It was her first match since she played the Brazil 4 nations Tournament.

Fury take the title with two wins 10 goals for, 0 against after Quebec went to extra time against Laval (winning 3-1) the evening before. Belanger played sparingly in both games, and while showing flashes of brilliance, was not game fit.

Off to Seattle to meet Vancouver, Atlanta, and the Sounders women with a perfect record in 2011, the Fury hope to their first ever USL W League title.

That Montreal/Quebec semi-final was an absolutely entertaining great game and celebration and showcase of the best of Eastern Canadian women's soccer. It had everything - skill, passion, grit, good ball movement, and great individual play.

Laval is thin in the attack but got some great play from Legault Cordisco. Quebec had good play from Laverdière and Gagné but it wasn't enough to tip the balance. Bélanger changed the game when she came on the field by adding danger almost every time she touched the ball. She was a level above everyone else on the field.

If anyone didn't see it and would like to, contact Rogers TV at ottawa22@rci.rogers.com. I have gotten copies of shows on DVD from them before.

Vic,

Unfortunately, we didn't broadcast the second semi-final on Saturday, only the Fury v Lynx match.

Sunday's final was on last night and should be on again sometime this week on Rogers 22.

Cheers

It sounded to be a testy final 15 minutes for the Fury who, after a brace from Mal Outerbridge, and a cracker from Courtney Wetzel, saw Casey Ramirez sent off for a hand ball in the box. Resulting PK and then a scramble in the box made it a 3-2 finish in the dying minutes. Really wish there had been a live stream. It's so easy to set these up.
