Finland

Veikkausliiga - Tomer Chencinski started again as his VPS lost 2-1 to MyPa on Thursday. O'Neill came in at min. 84 for MyPa.

- Trafford was red-carded and Bellisomo was a late sub into Mariehamn's 2-1 loss to JJK on Thursday.

Ykkonen - Randy Edwini-Bonsu scored both goals for AC Oulu as they won 2-1 over Viikingit on Saturday. Oulu stand first in Finland's second tier.

O'Neill scored an amazing hat trick for his club MYPA, when they beat FF Jaro 5 - 1 in Jakobstad. MYPA also moved up from the bottom of the table, so it was all in all a great night for the struggling club from a very small community in southern Finland.

Also in Finland,

Trafford sat because of his previous red card and Bellisomo stayed on the bench as Mariehamn beat Honka 1-0

Chencinski and VPS drew 1-1 away to Rovaniemi.

In Sweden,

Stamatopolous started for AIK again, this time losing behind 2-0 away to GAIS.

In Japan,

Chiba continue tied for top spot in the second Japanese tier, drawing 1-1 away to Yokohama FC. Lam seems to have dropped to the second team for the time being. I'm not sure if an injury has played any part.

The three Canadian kids from Nacional de Montevideo play in the Quarter Finals tonight of the Copa Libertadores Under 20 Tourney against America of Mexico.

All three kids - Jonathan Osorio, Lucas Cavallini & Tristan Grant - have played the majority of the games. Grant has looked great in the Central Defense and has played all three games. Osorio and Cavallini have played 2 each - as Osorio was rested in the final round robin game as he was on a yellow.

If anyone is interested, the game is on at 7 PM EST at the following link:

Excellent news if they can get into some first team action. If we can get three kids playing for Nacional or another such Uruguayan/South Am team we are flying as a CMNT...we need that latin flavour. It, to be fair, is also why I hope to see Aleman picked-up by a South American or Mexican team post u17, not a Euro one unless Spanish! We need that flair.

Agreed. Osorio has already seen action with Nacional's reserve team (which is basically 3rd division footy), and Grant and Cavallini are on the Under 19 squad (4th division footy).

This tournament is the inaugural edition of the Copa Libertadores Under 20 (Champions League version for South America), so this could be some good exposure for all 3 of them. Round robin play for Nacional finished with 2 wins (over Libertad of Paraguay and Jorge Wilstermann of Bolivia) and 1 draw (against Universitario of Peru - which is the host team).

Hey Esco, do you know if Josh Portillo and the Papaterpos kid are still at Nacional as well?

Papaterpos kid is no longer with Nacional; and I believe Portillo recently returned back home as well.

Nil-Nil at half, Nacional missed an opportunity in missing a penalty. All 3 kids doing a fair job.

Finland

Bellisomo and O'Neill were both late subs in MyPa's 1-1 draw with Mariehamn. Chencinski started in VPS' 1-1 draw with Haka.

Sweden

Stamato...err Kenny started again, earning a clean sheet this time during a 3-0 win for AIK over Norrkoping. His side are seventh in the league standings. Is he our third or fourth best keeper at the moment, I wonder?

Norway

Haugesund joined Valerenga as clubs knocked out of the Norwegian Cup, losing 3-2 in extra time to Viking, who are currently second-last in the league. Pozniak replaced an attacking player in the 78th min of a game that went 120 min.

I would say fourth, as long as Sutton keeps getting starts in MLS.
