price for season tickets for MLS in the new Stade Saputo

Recommended Posts

Glad to see your FO did it the right way. Well done, guys, very glad to have you join us in 2012. You truly deserve to be up there with us.

Alright, now that all the numbers were officially released, I can say what I wanted to say since you found out your numbers:

The FO didn't "do it the right way", we, the supporters did.

The FO was held accountable every step of negotications, and we constantly kept up on how our prices would be low, they made a public promise, and we held them to it for months. You guys, due to the shock and surprise, really strike me as having dropped the ball, and you didnt know the FO's planned price for "your" section.

I knew what my MLS tickets would cost, before you did. Is it because IMFC is nicer? No, the fact they attack us in stands with barely any provocation proves that they aren't. It's because we stayed on top of them every step of the way, and they knew they wouldn't be able to handle the backlash had they tried what your owners did.

We have no one to thank but ourselves, just like you have no one to blame but yourselves.

We know we deserve what we got. We also know you in Vancouver deserve what you got.

It's also assumed that you'll never be "up here with us", because of the fact The southsiders don't put in the necessary amount of work, nor do they have any power when push comes to shove.

Before this causes a shi-tstorm, Trident is speaking for himself here not UM and he was also not involved in any way with our negotiations with the club. I do think those UM representatives who negotiated with the club did a good job but IMFC was also pretty cooperative on the seating/pricing issues. We have our differences with the club especially with security measures but like any organization there are areas where I think they do a good job and areas in which they could definitely improve. I think the ticketing and marketing people to some extent "get it" moreso than some other members of IMFC's management. They understand what our demographic is (younger people without a lot of money), what we bring to the games and how the atmosphere we make attracts other fans even those who are not ultras and never will be. Whether they understand this because they like us or simply from a marketing/business sense I do not know. However, I think they realize the little bit of money they lose in making our tickets cheaper they will make back by being able to sell a lot of more expensive tickets to people who want to attend a game with a real soccer atmosphere.

As far as Vancouver and the Southsiders are concerned, neither myself nor Trident have any idea what went on with the negotiations there, what the Southsiders did or what the Caps management did. It is also none of our business and doesn't concern us. Personally I think it is very disappointing that the Caps decided to exploit their most loyal fans regardless of what negotiations were like with the Southsiders. Whether the Southsiders leadership did a good or poor job in negotiations is something I have no idea about and is up to their membership to decide. Johnnie Monster was congratulating us in his post so I see no reason that anyone in UM should be commenting on what he or the other Southsiders did or did not do in negotiations with their club. That is for the Southsiders to discuss amongst themselves on their own forum.

Thanks Grizz,

As you've correctly stated, Trident doesn't have a clue what he's talking about with respect to the discussions which took place in Vancouver, and I certainly won't be indulging him on that issue. To do so would be disrespectful to the hard working volunteers on our board and yours who have spent more than a decade standing up for supporters in our two cities, while others snipe away on their keyboards from the comfort of their living room.

^ Wow, thems fightin' words.

I suppose. I just dont like the situation where Johnnie implies we have what we have based on luck, as well as the way he finishes off the post with "Glad to see your FO did it the right way. Well done, guys, very glad to have you join us in 2012. You truly deserve to be up there with us. " it was not luck, it was due to the successful effort, strength and constant work of the UM02.

I know people on this board thing being humble and respectful is key, but I'll speak in all honesty, and say that to have a member of the Southsiders to say we deserve to be "up there with us", is simply unacceptable.

They are not up there with us even at this point in time. They are a fossilized version of north american support, people with lots of enthusiasm, with no output.

Nothing impressive, just bland generic singing at a low volume.

In the game of supporting their homewtown team, they win, because that's what it's all about.

But speaking as a member of another group, it takes more than just showing up and singing every now and then during the 90 to be impressed. Obviously, they wont care about my opinion since they are doing what they want, doing it well, and having fun but my opinion is that it's demeaning to be called lucky and have them implying were equal in some way, as it cheapens the work of everyone here in Montreal.
