Sportsnet article confirming Jackson's plans to plan against Ecuador and at the Gold Cup

http://www.sportsnet.ca/soccer/2011/05/12/simeon_jackson/

Here's a quote from Simeon regarding Hart playing him as an outside midfielder:

"Yeah, that's what I love to do, I'm a goal-scorer and I want to score goals, but sometimes in a team you have to see what the team needs," Jackson said. "I'm very flexible, I don't mind playing that position."

P.S. CBC's John Molinaro also has a blog entry on Jackson. It doesn't bring up the Gold Cup but is more focused on Hoilett comparisons.

That's exactly what I want to hear.

Very good Edgar article, it sounds like he's in the right frame of mind and ready to compete! He could have dropped his head with the way all the club situations have transpired but it seems he is just more motivated! I worried that his promising talent has been wasted but hopefully if the last game of the deason is any indication, he's still got it! As the author notes, Cardiff had probably the best strike force in the Championship and Edgar held his own playing in his natural CB position! Let's hope he has a good Gold Cup and maybe challenges for a CB spot for our MNT eventually!

Edgar really needs to sort things out this summer with his club, he would probably challenge for a starting spot with Canada if he was playing week in and out.

He should move to MLS. would for sure get playing time and it's not very far below he level he is currently (not) playing at. I think both Vancouver and Toronto could use him.

Even if he is getting playing time in MLS, I think Edgar is above the MLS even with his few and far between appearances. I think Edgar should get out of England and try his luck getting on with a mid to bottom table club in France, Portugal, or Netherlands.

30 man roster for the camp and the Ecuador game then cut to 23 before the Gold Cup? Or 30 man roster for the camp then cut down before the Ecuador game.

I would imagine it would be 30 for the Ecuador game and then cut down. That would give SH the opportunity to look at some guys he's not sure about.

On the flip side he may want to give his starting XI a game together before throwing them in the deep end against the States.

What I would do is have my starting IX out for the first half and then bring on the maybes at halftime to give them a solid look. It's a friendly so I'm sure they'll agree to a high number of substitutions.

It quotes in the article (http://www.vif-fotball.no/article3152920.ece) Sport Director Truls Haakonsen who says: "Canada also has a training camp pre-tournament but has been more understanding to our (VIF) situation and has allowed Hirschfeld to play an away match against Sogndal on the 29th of May before joining the Canadian camp".

Jamaican Intl Luton Shelton is leaving VIF after the May 22nd game versus Molde to join the Jamaican camp in Brasil.

End result is that Lars is probably doubtful vs. Ecuador.
