I may also try to get a plaque for the winner, there is a company in this area that does really quality stuff at reasonable prices. Do I need any "Voyageur" permission to use the logo etc.

Might be a bit pointless, but why are more points awarded to MLS than other leagues, and to NASL than CSL, etc? A goal is a goal, and while it it more difficult to score in MLS, the players themselves are better than players in the CSL so it evens out (in my opinion).

^ I largely agree, though it might be worth downgrading goals in a provincial men's league like AMSL. The CIS season is short enough that it likely wouldn't come into play.

MM2, who would the winners have been over the last two years if you were just looking at total goals (no multiplier)?

2010 - Tihomir Maletic 17 (Toronto Croatia)

2009 - Reda Agourram Trois Rivieres CSL and Chris Fernandes Thunder Bay PDL with 13 each

I carried this formula over from previous years. I was also thinking that it is almost impossible for any player outside of MLS to win (especially with more teams now). MLS plays more games so that should even out.

I am open to any change in the formula, either just goals or a lesser multiplier.

Thank you for starting this threa. I think you need to keep some sort of multiplier. I would recommend including the V's Cup at 2.0 and all playoff games at the same multiplier as their league games. This would give the NASL teams some more games and a chance to even things out.

The princple of a competition is to have a chance to win so at 2.0 at the top and .5 at the low end a CIS player would have to score 4 times the # of goals as an MLS player.

I would go with 1.5, 1.25, 1.0, .75 still gives more value to the higher league while giving a lower league player the chance to win.

Last year's top finishers with the 2.0, 1.5, 1.0 and .50

Top Points

Dwayne DeRosario 30 pts - 15 goals (TFC) MLS

Tihomir Maletic 17 pts - 17 goals (Toronto Croatia) CSL

Brandon Swartzendruber 15 pts - 15 goals (Thunder Bay) PDL

Chad Barrett 14 pts - 7 goals (TFC) MLS

Milos Scepanovic 14 pts - 14 goals (Serbian White Eagles) CSL

Luke Holmes 14 pts - 14 goals (London) PDL

Ali Gerba 13.5 pts - 9 goals (Mtl) USSF 2

How the #s would be with the new formula

Top Points

Dwayne DeRosario 22.5 pts - 15 goals (TFC) MLS

Tihomir Maletic 17 pts - 17 goals (Toronto Croatia) CSL

Brandon Swartzendruber 15 pts - 15 goals (Thunder Bay) PDL

Chad Barrett 10.5 pts - 7 goals (TFC) MLS

Milos Scepanovic 14 pts - 14 goals (Serbian White Eagles) CSL

Luke Holmes 14 pts - 14 goals (London) PDL

Ali Gerba 11.25 pts - 9 goals (Mtl) USSF 2

Doesn't change the results but seems to be a bit more equitable.

Massimo Mirabelli of SC Toronto and Kadian Lecky of York Region both moved their season totals to three. Andrew Ornoch scored again and should be a contender if he doesn't move on in the next transfer window.

There were no MLS or NASL goals as Montreal and Toronto were shutout. Kyle Porter nets two for Edmonton to give him 3 goals on the season

TFC Academy and Vancouver Residency both used players from the MLS roster of their parent teams.

I assume you've got a spreadsheet crunching all this ... one more to add from NBPSL's Fundy United, Victor Okocha with 6 goals from 4 games.

curious, as I was scanning through quickly, there must be some players who double up on the Senior, PDL and CIS, NCAA seasons.

I should just do a Atlantic senior league swing next week... Holy Cross out of NL is on fire 6-0 with a +30 goal diff. Jon Hawco leads with 5 goals and there are 9 other Holy Cross players with 2 or more. If you are in St. John's this summer, check 'em out. Support Local Football.

^ In previous years the only Canadian leagues that were tracked are the CSL, PCSL, and AMSL and the leading CIS scorers. If someone wants to track the other provincial league scorers I will include them. (maybe at .6) You could have some players playing in two leagues, eg. PDL and CIS, however goals in the NCAA would not count.
