WSA Winnipeg to Play AS Roma

This summer Winnipeg soccer fans will get a real treat.

The legendary Italian club AS Roma will come visit the Manitoban capital to play WSA Winnipeg. The game will take place on July 1st at CanadInns Stadium. Ticket prices will be announced in the coming weeks.

The game was largely facilitated by WSA Winnipeg coach Eduardo Badescu’s close connections with the Serie A giants. Coach Badescu spent some of his UEFA coaching training at the Roman club.

"We are thrilled to be playing against such a quality team." said Badescu "It will be an amazing opportunity for both the players and the fans to see some of their heroes play in person."

"We know Eduardo quite well" said AS Roma Manager Vincenzo Montella "He is a great coach and we know that the opposition will be of good quality to help us with our preparations." The coach also stated that playing in Canada will give AS Roma a chance to expand its fan base.

Because of the quality of the opposition, Eduardo plans on bringing some NASL players to play for WSA Winnipeg just for this friendly.
