What expectations do people have for this team in the qualifying tournament? I personally don't think we'll have the goods to qualify this cycle as we'll still be relying on too many college players.

With the players available I would say expectations should be a playoff game like in 2008

This is what I said in an earlier camp.. He has no back ground. I did some research he got cut from FAU this pre-season for failing his fitness test. I don't understand how he gets called up when he's been on the tail end of 3 asswhoppings. Canada U-23's vs USA U-23, Canada U-20 vs USA U-20 & he Canada U-20 vs DC UNITED.. and in the 2-0 loss against the USA-20 during christmas he was sent off. Somebody must like him

Here's the Schulz Academy homepage (looks - operative word - like a top notch program):

http://www.schulzsocceracademy.com/

..and an article about their PDL team (which Hart plays for) going 5-0 in pre-season training:

http://www.schulzsocceracademy.com/home/481566.html

Meh, sounds like they're playing adult amateur teams...

"Participating in a competitive Adult League in the pre-season the young team (age 16-20) won all their 5 games in impressive manner."

...and let's hope their PDL season turns out better this time around:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2010_PDL_season#Standings

(I'll save you all the trouble, they went 0-12-2 and were the worst team in PDL by far scoring only 5 goals and surrendering 34)

About the best you can find in the states it looks like... Jozy Altidore came through their ranks and they now have a residency program

I have seen Schulz Academy first hand. They play a good game of soccer. He is getting good training there. Schulz is NOT the best Academy in USA though. But yes, some excellent coaching.

You can look up their statistics-only results at the Super Y League and in the SYL finals. I think they have won a few championships recently and regularly reach the semi's.

I saw that, however looking at that roster, I'm pretty sure that the majority of that team is within the NCAA right now. So I pose the question what is he doing right now... They have a pretty impressive list of players in the pros though. Then again with the American athletic programs and the amount of talent in West Palm, it would be hard not to find a handful of good players every couple years.

Well done!

That's better!

No recap yet on the Chivas USA website, but if there is one it will appear here:

In the 84th minute, Canada counterattacked and got a second goal, this time with Randy Edwini-Bonsu applying the finish.

Good result, wouldn't it be great to qualify for the olympics

It would definitely be fun to watch and I think its in reach with the domestic group of players we have, thats all that really matters for this tournament plus maybe a few european guys who get released to come play.

Canada - Chivas USA 2:0 (0:0)

Goals: 61’ Curtis Ushedo, 85’ Randy Edwini-Bonsu

In 61’ ball was deliver to the box from free kick and Curtis beautifully headed ball in the net. In 85’ Randy who played last 25’ controlled the ball on his chest, flick with his foot above his head, turn 180 degrees, over run 2 Chivas players didn’t let ball to touch the ground and from 25-27 meters scored. It was something to see. The best Canadian player would go to 3 guys Curtis Ushedo, Drew Becky (both played center defense) and Adam Jenssen in the net. In 10’ mark of the first half Adam made unbelievable save and another 1 just at the end of opening half. In second half our keeper completed hat trick of beautiful saves and stopped another short range shot.

Overall Chivas USA overplayed Canada. First half was terrible. Unfortunately for us, our midfielders didn’t do anything. Actually I didn’t even notice that we have anyone in second line. Our right and left defenders had no clue what’s going on. Second half was a bit better, but not for long. Physically, technically and tactically Chivas showed us what to do with the ball and without it. At least 7 players participating in this game are not national level. On positive note we were much faster and we scored the goals.
