Ivan
^ Noticed that name as well. Good for him. The more young Canucks playing pro the better. Troche has been talked about for a while on this board. Too bad his Euro ambitions haven't worked out, but good to see him not giving up.

Ivan
^ Yes, I remember those comments. Regardless, judging by where he is now, those comments are probably irrelevant. Still good to see his name out there. Means he still has a chance.
Jeremy
Indeed, I agree with you. However it is not relevant anymore since he has been cut from the camp today (http://www.radio-canada.ca/sports/soccer/2011/01/25/002-impact-camp-jour2.shtml)

loyola
Interesting article - curious comments about Rivas' abilities and that young keeper's trial at TFC, where they seemed to have taken exception to his dropkicking style (correct me, french speakers, svp) I think they meant Rivas is holding too much onto the ball and you are correct about the keeper form Ontario. TFC coaches didn't like his distribution, which is a weird reason not to keep a promissing 17 years old. Maybe he isn't that good and it's just his agent talking? Keano
The Impact will play Dallas, Portland and Kansas City in the Arizona training camp. Honestly this makes more sense to me playing against better, N.A.-style opponents, as opposed to warming up against Italian Serie D sides.
Sam
Would love to see Rivas get some time with the Impact this year. He seemed to have completely disappeared, good to see him back in Canada
Lovethegame!
Look out for Will Beauge.. Lot of top talent coming from the Ottawa Fury PDL Team in the past few years.. The Coaching staff alone there was top, and recruited some good players.. Will Beague invited to MTL Camp (was a hair away from making SJ last year) Martin John - currently playing for Cardiff in the Championship Eddie Edward - currently on the FC Dallas Roster Joe Yoffe - currently for Crevillant Deportivo in Spain Alexis Pradie - Drafted to FC Dallas last week mahir hadziresic - Mlada Boleslav in Czech Strange that TFC or the Impact (other then Will Beauge) wouldn't take the tiny trek to Ottawa to recruit some of these players! I agree, they're out of it when it comes to players in their own backyard. Yallop gave Beauge a trial back in 2009, but never anything from any of the Canadian clubs...until now. Re: Troche; he was in the 4th division last season (as opposed to 3rd division in the release) he left Greece because of the poor economy - i'm guessing he was not getting offered a decent wage. Too bad he was let go by Montreal, would have been a good fit for him as a local kid. He's still pretty young so he has options. And btw, he was in contact with Tony Fonseca back in late 2009 (when Fonseca was still U20 coach) to play for Canada so he is not looking to represent Uruguay or Greece. It would be great if John, Beague, Edward and Hadziresic could get deals with the Impact for this season. All are young and have the potential to maybe be Canada players one day. Whats the deal with Hadziresic? Wasn't he gonna play for Bosnia?

Lovethegame!
Mahir was called up to the Bosnia Team - but was injured and didn't play. And yomurphy is right, he did get the call to play for the u20's last year, and got in 3 games I believe and did well. Hopefully we keep an eye on him and get him capped! Martin John is an unreal left back - he is competing with Lee Naylor at Cardiff so isn't seeing much time, but has played in a league cup game, and was on loan at Newport and played all the games there. This guy is a PERFECT fit for TFC, or impact etc. Unreal talent.
MastaK
By the way, the Impact stated a few times now that they will try privileging Francophone players...

My understanding is his goal was to make the Academy team and work up from there, the staff wanted to see him with the trial group as he has been away for so long. But now I don't know if being cut has limited that option too. If I get an update I'll post back. Good Luck to him a kid who has done his fair share of traveling to make his dreams come true.
