Montreal Impact 2011 Roster

No-one is more aware of the gigantic failures of the Impact front office than Impact fans ourselves.

That said, what in the name of all that is good and sacred in this world are you talking about?

I dunno, Maybe it's all the loaners they've been getting of late... Perhaps I'm being a bit facetious but it is kinda funny. And tell me that the MLS hasn't been concerned about the direction that Montreal has been going this season. Don't get me wrong, I sincerely want the Impact to succeed but to think that the MLS hasn't been paying attention to what has been happening there is just crazy.

All the loaners? The only loaners they have gotten are Pore and Montano. Pore was not that great for the first couple of games and is just starting to play well so I don't think he is the cause of the turnaround. Montano has only played 5 minutes of one game so far. The other players they brought in were out of contract and not playing in MLS.

I don't see anything unusual about us getting two loaned players who were not playing from MLS teams especially a year before we enter the league and will need to pick up such players in the expansion draft. The only thing unusual this year has been the incredible amount of player changes throughout the whole season. A little bit of this can be expected from the change in leagues but it has mostly been due to mismanagement and lack of proper player evaluation before players are signed.

I didn't mean to create a conspiracy and it's better late than never that the Impact start getting something ready for next season. I hope they make the NASL playoffs(just not at FCE's expense)

Why don't you conspire to help your city to operate a "professional soccer club" for more then one year.

Love it, lets go there...

Edmonton's doing fine, thanks a lot and last I checked, we were still in a playoff spot. Plans look solid for next season and We're easily a better product on the field than the Impact. Better at the back, better in the midfield and better up front. Our owner's ego doesn't interfere with the the manager's selections and we've got more Canadian talent playing and scoring and winning than Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver combined. We've done all this as a first year club, with modest expectations. We don't even have a stadium to play in. First year in, I'd say things are looking pretty good.

Good luck in the MLS

Wow thats impressive!

Now lets hope that Edmonton makes the Playoffs, before you crown them as a championship calibre team. Then maybe you can boast a little. In in the meantime you should be praying for a new stadium, and enough fans to fill it. I hope your owner has deep enough pockets to go till that stadium gets built. Otherwise you'll be just another of the many short lived franchises that folded in the NASL/USL.

This years version of IMFC, is a transitional one. Don't expect to see more then 4 players of this roster making the jump to MLS. As bad as this team has been, we might make the playoffs yet. If we do look out.

I agree... If you make the playoffs, I wouldn't be surprised to see you do well. The impact have been doing better than FCE of late. Puerto Rico is the club that looks deadly right now though.

As I've said a million times before, the ambition this year was modest for FCE. I didn't expect playoffs, but so far, so good. My biggest thing was that it was Canadian content and it had solid ownership. Done and done. I've heard a couple things are in the works for next year, including a place to play. I don't know the timeline on a new stadium but if Fath and Company have it as a long term goal, thats good enough for me. The investment so far has been considerable and the owners expectations have been humble out of the gate. It seems to be a long term model. Like I said, so far, so good. They will be here next year, that much is known.

According to SRC and several people on twitter Diouf has been arrested for shoplifting at a US airport and won't play on Saturday. According to the report he claimed he would pay when confronted but then his credit card was refused. Bonehead move but at the same time, something fishy about that so I'll reserve judgment for now.

For the first time in its history, the Montreal Impact contracted players to 10 months out of the year in 2008. This extended training camp was a first for the Montreal Impact and many in the media have stated that it is a move to next level in professional soccer. They began the year at the soccer training centre, Soccerplexe Catalogna before traveling to Italy for more training and three exhibition games against Italian clubs. They drew their first match 0-0 against third division Arezzo, lost their second match 1-0 against second division Frosinone and finally won their third encounter 1-0 against fourth division Casino. In 2008, the Montreal Impact won the Canadian Championship, gaining the chance to represent Canada in the CONCACAF Champions League. The tournament features the best teams in all of North and Central America and the Caribbean Islands.
