Ivan
Tough choice for me as well. 1. Papa Josh 2. Hutch Nana a distant 3rd.
Keegan
Tough to see either Simpson or Hutch going their career without a MNT player of the year award. I want to give it to Hutch, I mean playing 90 out of position for PSV, Danish Superliga player of the year, FIFA player of the day/performance vs. Ukraine... but at the same time Simpson has been killing it for Manisaspor and over the past year has been the best player for the actual national team. Im gonna have to go like: 1. Hutchinson 2. Simpson 3. Cann (even though he didn't play for the nats he was TFC's player of the year)

TheKottonmouthed1555362307
Hutch, or Simpson, and like oothers have said Cann deserves a mention, for going from clubless to TFC player of the year.
Guest Ed
^ TFC player of the year really doesn't mean j*ck sh*t at this level. Especially when anyone without blinders on would have to agree that the TFC player of the year could only go to DeRosario. But I do like your first two choices. I think it means something if you are to look at the 3 canidates from TFC. IMO, Cann and DeRo were close for this award but I think I saw more games where I was frustrated with DeRo than I saw with Cann (maybe 2-3 bad games). So, I think the selection is justified and I don't think I've blinders. BTW, who was voting for the TFC award?
Guest Ed
We'll have to agree to disagree. DeRo set a new standard in his career in goal scoring and named to MLS top 11. Cann and Attakora were a big improvement in the team defence but TFC still finished out of the top 10 in the league in goals against and neither were given a sniff for MLS top 11. Bertuzzi44
Both Simpson and Hutchinson have had great years at both club ad country levels. It seems pretty close, so I will ask the question: with both of our guys doing great at their club teams, which is doing it at a higher level? How does PSV and the Dutch league compare to Manisaspor and the Turkish league?? This might sway my decision!
JoshieScores
If CSA award is based on most valuable player on his team (both MNT and club), hutch hands down. If based on pure scoring stat, Simpson.
Standard
Hutch should get it imo, although Simpson is doing great atm.
Sam
It's very tight between Simpson and Hutch IMO, but I think Simpson just edges it. Simpson is scoring in bucketloads - something rare for a Canadian. And I honestly think the Turkish league is equal too if not better than the Dutch league. Look at Champions Leagues results in the past few years, the dutch league gets along on its reputation and lots of people assume that the Turkish league is bad on the basis that they don't know much about it. BearcatSA
Until Hutchinson won the Danish league player of the year, I would have said Simpson. But now I'll go with Hutchinson.

He is playing in his natural position and just shining. Hutch, at the moment, is filling a utility role at club level (albeit at a more prestigious club) and wowing from time-to-time. Both played some gems for Canada. Tough call.

The way I look at it is this, both play in similar leagues but Hutch plays for a much better team... equivalent to if Josh played for Fenerbahce. Both have been good for the nats although Simpson has been better imo. Hutchinson's Danish player of the year really just wins it for him imo... how many Canadians have EVER won player of the year in a European top flight? Kusch to the Corner
Simpson has had an unreal second half of 2010, both for club and country. Hutchinson was excellent for ALL of 2010.
Jeremy
Simpson scored 4 goals in 29 games in 2009-2010 and 7 goals in 14 games in the current season. It's good but not more than Occean (I know he has been good with the NT too), and Manisaspor is not so good this season, whereas PSV is first in the standings.
