tmcmurph
http://www.whitecapsfc.com/news/2010/11/home-grown-player-resrictions-lifted "a measure lifting the restrictions on the number of Home Grown Players a team is allowed to sign is likely to be passed by the Board of Governors this week. According to MLS VP of Competition and Player Relations Todd Durbin teams will no longer be limited to adding only 4 players each year to their Senior or Developmental rosters." Great news. Vancouversoccerman
This is huge news, and it is a big part of what the Whitecaps were pushing for when they were accepted into MLS.

TFCRegina
Cheap way to populate your reserve roster and prepare players for MLS. Smart move by the League and it will be very beneficial for the Canadian teams which can use the Reserve League as the next stage of development for the Academy players. Richard
Now all that MLS must do is set up a league for these youngsters to play in, though the reported CSA moratorium on Canadian clubs playing in US based leagues below MLS might throw a spanner in the works. TheKottonmouthed1555362307
Good things are happening with the MLS, the homegrown restriction gone, Reserve league back. now we just need to bang out the dents in Senior Roster Restrictions and they might have a chance of really making this league take the step towards being thought of as a legit league in the World. TFCRegina
http://www.cbc.ca/sports/soccer/story/2010/11/16/sp-garber-molinaro.html From the sounds of it, this may not be the case. It will probably mean a smaller Canadian quota...
jpg75
So the roster composition is now set: "Team roster sizes will increase to 30 players from 24. The six extra roster spots are reserved for players 24 years old and younger and will not count against a team’s salary cap, which for 2011 will be $2.67 million US – an increase from $2.55 million this season." So an extra 6 development spots on top of the current 4 means a total of 10. 20 senior roster spots and a min. increase on the salary cap.

shawn_strat
MLS is continuing with its baby steps. I just wish a single table was next, but I really doubt it.
