Richard
Lack of sensible TV coverage in Canada means I won't be watching. Pity when MLS desperately needs to broaden its support base.

Tuscan
Anyone found a good internet stream for the game yet? ATDHE claims to have one, but right now it's on Canal Sport1 (which is French, non?) Haven't found anything on Justin.tv yet. **Edit - Well I'll be, it appears that Canal Sport1 is going to be showing the MLS Cup final.

nolando
Turned out to be a pretty good game by most accounts. Some real excitement at the end with Casey and Cunningham and Wynne all involved.
Tuscan
Geez, when did Casey Connor get subbed in? Whoever he is he must have had a real impact to earn that Game MVP nod. /goddamneduninformedcorporatesponsorexecutiveshandingoutawards

Vic
Considering the weather and the league the skill and execution was quite high. Dropped off in the second half but the first was very enjoyable to watch.
Gian-Luca
I would like to congratulate Referee Baldomero Toledo for being the first ever spectator allowed to watch an MLS final on the field of play itself. He missed about 3 pk's, 5 reds and I lost track of how many yellows, but we managed to get out of there before midnight so I suppose I should be grateful! Vic
Agreed 100%. Doubt you saw it at BMO but there was a camera angle of Casey's drop that showed there was no contact.

He missed about 3 pk's, 5 reds and I lost track of how many yellows, but we managed to get out of there before midnight so I suppose I should be grateful! the reffing job was disgraceful. I get the sense that Toledo was told that the MLS Cup final was competing with a decent NFL game at the same time so "keep it physical, to attract the pointy ball types that think soccer is wimpy". As Vic said, parts of the 1st half were ok (the Dallas goal was marvellous) but overall, not a good game...glad I stayed home (I too could not even give away my tickets)
argh1
It was great to see the full house at BMO without the home town team. Shows how far soccer has come as a spectator sport.
mmd
I can't believe they did not broadcast this game on CBC! They air TFC games all year long, along with Sportsnet. Somehow TSN2 gets it!. I was changing from TSN, Sportnet & the Score for Highlights, Nothing! But if you want to see the Washington Redskins miss a last second field goal to eventually win in overtime, all 3 networks will make sure u see it minimun 3 times? Unbelievable. How is soccer suppose to grow if you can't see the game on basic cable!
Keegan
Agreed 100%. Doubt you saw it at BMO but there was a camera angle of Casey's drop that showed there was no contact. Which one was that? I missed parts of the game but I saw the first one where he was blatantly fouled in the box 2 or 3 times and no call, that was a complete joke! Why on earth would Casey dive when he was dribbling past a defender on his back and it was just so obvious, Toledo was in the box about 10 feet away too

Why on earth would Casey dive when he was dribbling past a defender on his back and it was just so obvious, Toledo was in the box about 10 feet away too I think they only showed the angle once, but from the first two angles my friend and I both were blown away there was no call but on the third angle it was 100% clear there was no contact. Vic
Why on earth would Casey dive Likely because he's a nutter. That's the one Havoc and it showed how tough the job of a ref is. In Scotland you'd get a post-game card for that. I also thought he should have been cautioned when he torpedoed his head into the defender's face in front of the net and missed the ball. His goal was also interesting. If he did it in the middle of the field it would have been blown down for playing the ball on the ground. Is there an out in the rules for location on the field? Gian-Luca
It was great to see the full house at BMO without the home town team. Shows how far soccer has come as a spectator sport. Well it wasn't quite a full house - the announced attendance was 21,700 and I suspect actual was probably closer to 20,000. There were actually more Dallas & Colorado fans there than I was suspecting given the fan base level of those two teams and the distance of those cities with Toronto - so good on them for making the trek. But yes, a pretty good crowd under the many adverse circumstances. I suspect had one of the glamour teams made it to the final, you would have seen it at the full 22,000. Free kick
Everything went the opposite from what I expected. I was expecting: 1) Uncomfortable and shivering damp/wet weather with winds comming in off the lake. 2) Really crappy turnout 3) no visiting Supporters. Every time we see games from Colorado on TV, the stands look empty 4) No super stars but a well played entertaining game. No clear cut favourite, so you figure no need for one team to sit back It turns out: 1) the weather was excellent for soccer. No wind, the rain held off. If you dressed right, you were fine. 2) the turnout was better than I expected. Actually better than many of Concacaf games this year. 3) the best turnout ever at BMO for visiting support. Shocked as I was arriving at the USector watering hole an hour before and a massive hoard of Colorado support was heading out to the stadium. 4) The game was boring. Too few chances, no team was pressing until the final 5 minutes in extra time time when dallas poured it on and came close. It was as if both teams were coached by Preki. Both of the Colorado goals were ugly
Sam
Enjoyed the game, sure it wasn't a great spectacle but it was a championship game. First real championship soccer game I've ever seen and it made for a good night out. Atmosphere around the stadium pre-kickoff was pretty cool with fans of just about every MLS team there, Adrian Cann signing autographs along with a few others. As for the game itself its always fun watching a high stakes match. I mean just look at the World Cup Final, sure it was a bit of a dull game itself but just the fact it was a World Cup final made it edge of your seat stuff for the whole 120 minutes. Too few chances, no team was pressing until the final 5 minutes in extra time time when dallas poured it on and came close. It was as if both teams were coached by Preki. I think that's a bit harsh, no? Dallas played a lot of attractive, attacking football, especially after Colorado tied it up - something that Preki teams are not especially known for. I thought the first half of the Extra Time was boring, but other than that it was a pretty good game.
