Joe MacCarthy
“It’s always nice when you get called up,” he said. “The more games that I play internationally, the better. These are some good teams that we’re playing, some great players. Obviously when I come back to DC, it could only help me.”
Sam
Jakovic is the best centre back we have. Period. Plus he's fantastic on the ball and the partnership he's developed with McKenna is turning into something very promising. If WCQ started tomorrow he'd be one of if not the first name on my starting XI

TheKottonmouthed1555362307
If they leave Jakovic unprotected, there's no way he goes un selected, he's is worth the import spot though to DCU, a starting CB of his calibre shouldn't be a detriment to his club no matter what is status is. I can't see them leaving him unprotected unless, there was some deal in place where they'd leave him for VWFC and we sent them something in return, not even sure if that's allowed, but him leaving DC is a long shot, would be great, as Jakovic and Rochat would be a pairing at the back, or Rochat slides to LB if the DeMerit rumors come true. But if you look at the past expansion lists it hasn't been players who are young and dependable in the MLS, it's usually been fringe players and older guys who have become expendable. nolando
I seriously doubt you'd see a guy like Jakovic available. More the likes of Serioux, Jazic, Edson Edward, as far as Canadians go.
finchster
Even if Jakovic was left unprotected, Portland would make him the first pick in the expansion draft so he wouldn't play in Vancouver anyway/
Obinna
I think Jazic would be a good pick up for Vancouver if left unprotected. He has lots of MLS experience and would provide good competition for the starting LB role. I'd say he has a few years left in him yet. Sure look at Frankie Hejduk. How old is he now? 36? Sam
Would be absolutely shocked if he's left unprotected on a team as poor as DCU
