foreverthursday
If the USSF doesn't sanction a Division II does the NASL die standing? What happens to those teams? Can the CSA sanction the NASL? Does the CSA have the balls to do anything without someone to hold their hand? Why is there a circle in the middle of the soccer field? What the flying **** is it for? That wasn't two questions, but two topics.
RS
Why is there a circle in the middle of the soccer field? What the flying **** is it for? For the same reason there is a circle in the middle of a hockey rink or basketball court.
Trident
Why is there even a soccer field at all? Why not a soccer area?

On the second point, it's to keep all the opposing players an equal distance from the centre spot at kickoff.

The Ref
In general terms the markings on a soccer field are there to help the officials apply the laws of the game as are the goal posts, nets, corner flags, different jerseys for teams, etc.
