According to SRC sport, Alex Surprenant was signed by Edmonton for next season. Good luck to him.

Good news. Shows the importance of having more teams in D2 to sign players like this. He is not currently at the level to get much playing time with the Impact but is still pretty young and could develop well. We certainly need guys like this to keep playing as who knows where their career might go as long as they can keep professionally active.

That's a very Canadian-heavy roster. It'll be interesting to see how well they do, but I'll be cheering for them (aside from on April 27 and May 4, of course ;) )

Very Canadian heavy and (to me) seem very young. Not that either is a bad thing, I think there are a lot of players that will develop well and have a lot of potential.

If I'm not mistaken the ones in bold were all once in the Whitecaps organization, did I miss any?

Gabe Gala and Frank Jonke are two other names that should be looked at

Last time I checked Oulu was still appealing their expulsion from the Finnish top tier, meaning that Frank still has job. I think it is looks overwhelmingly like the season has been saved and they will play in the Veikkausliiga. Now, if you feel he would be better served in Edmonton, then that is an entirely different matter.

Hard to say whether this will be a good signing or not. He had two good seasons but they were quite a while ago and in other years he was pretty bad. Last year he didn't even play in NASL and was on a division 4 team. I can't say I was very impressed with his ability when he played for Montreal. I would have thought that there were some better NASL veterans available than Antoniuk and was expecting Edmonton to sign a few of them but so far they haven't.

Great article in the Edmonton Journal today. Was actually a decent size, and covered a lot of the new signings, including Antoniuk. They play up his experience A LOT.

I guess we'll have to wait and see what the year brings. Hopefully Coach Sinkgraven has seen something in the preseason that will be positive for FCE.

The other factor would have to be the price the team is paying for him. If he's pretty cheap, so much the better, but I hope they didn't sign him for a large sum solely based on his experience.
