U18 Sony cup women - Day 1 summary

In the first game Ontario has difficultly beaten Saskatchewan 1-0 even if they played about 30 minutes with a man advantage after Saskatchewan best defense (in my opinion) has been pulled out after what might have been a cheap shot. Neither the referee or the nearby linesman had seen anything (as well as the spectators close to me), the call looking like having been made by an outside official completely across the field. Previously, Saskatchewan had come very close to tying the game as a shot from outside the box hit the cross bar before landing close to the goal line.

In the second game, which I unfortunately missed for the most part, Alberta won 1-0 over New=Brunswick.

In the third game Quebec took an early lead, as they scored three times in the first thirtheen minutes, and sailed to a relatively easy 4-0 win over Manitoba.

In the last game of the day, BC dominated Nova Scotia but a great performance by the Novia Scotia keeper avoided her team to suffer a heavy loss. The game ended 3-2 with Nova Scotia scoring their second goal on the very last second of the game with the official blowing the whistle immediately after to end the game.

Thx for the update navycyr.

Do you know who the National Team coaches scouting these games are?

I have been unaible to get the information but I know it is a woman because I have seen her and by the pictures found on the Net, I'm inclined to think it is Andrea Neil, assistant coach on the U20 WNT, but I wouldn't bet on that because it is quite difficult to identify someone you have seen only once by pictures. She was taping videos of parts of some games probably to show to other members of the WNT coaching staff.
