TFCRegina
I thought so too I heard it too...but it's not too prominent. I doubt it's fake...it's probably he's been over there for awhile. Even when I lived in the Maritimes for 2 years I found myself picking up some of the words, and expressions.
Avram Grant
Out of curiosity, does Pacheco speak enough English to be interviewed? I've wondered this too. Anyone know?
CanadianSoccerFan
I thought so too I'm not surprised. It's mild compared to Jason Devos back in the day. He sounded more english than the queen but quickly shed it when he moved back here.
Tuscan
As usual, great interviews again Max! And with a hangover too. ;-) Maybe Lars will buy you some Jaeger bombs after ... Haha well if he starts in goal then I'd show up at the Kyev version of Sherlock Holmes with your fingers crossed.
Toronto MB
RE: Edgar He's got a bit of an accent. But considering the man has lived in Newcastle and Burnley for the majority of his adolescent and adult life, safe to say he's not faking it. If anything he was telling me he was conscious about not wanting to sound too British. RE: Pacheco Speaks enough English to say hello, but not enough to do a video interview. Jarrek
http://www.ffu.org.ua/ukr/teams/teams_main/6637/ Article talking about how Ukrainians and Canadians have met before at the 1986 World Cup and 1976 Olympics, where pretty much the whole Soviet Team was made up of Ukrainians, including the coach Valeri Lobanovsky. During Mexico 86, where Canada lost 2-0, both goals were scored by Ukrainians. Article also mentions how Canada has a large number of Ukrainian immigrants (diaspora). It's also mentioned that a touring team of Canadian players from BC toured the Soviet Union in the 60's (I have a matchday program from one of these games), tied with Avanhard Kharkiv 2:2, Lost to Shakhtar Donetsk 2:1. Also mentions Dynamo Kyiv's "unfortunate" encounter with Tomasz Radzinski and Anderlecht in the Champions League during the 2000/2001 CL campaign. Game will be telecast on Inter, starting at 20:45 local time.

Jarrek
If it is on Inter in Ukraine, then a live feed might be available here: http://inter.ua/en/live It's in the program schedule, so it will be shown on Inter, the question is, if it will be blocked due to some restriction. http://inter.ua/uk/programs/sports/ukraine_canada
FootieFool
Yep. Here's hoping. I just saw a trailer on the live stream promoting the game, so they are definitley broadcasting it at 20:45 local time. Whether the stream will be avialable for the game or not is the question. paul-collins
I've noticed this before, but Hutch celebrates his goals with his teammates instead of with the crowd. Must be the hockey guy in me, but I like that.
Gian-Luca
We'll have to get Jackson to cross the ball more often if that's what that was intended to be. I'm not sure who he was crossing it too - it looked to me like he stopped, looked at the corner and floated it in there on purpose.
BuzzAndSting
Great job Max. Your hard work is very much appreciated. Toronto MB
Final post of the thread from me. I have written an article reflecting on Canada's performance in Kiev, 'Kiev collapse speaks to lack of confidence', it's up at now at http://www.rednationonline.ca I have also put together the first of what I hope will become a series of videos. It's called 'Match Day in 90 Seconds'. As the name presumes, the videos will try to give some atmospheric/behind-the-scenes insight into what goes on in and around the stadium. The first one for the Ukraine match can be found at: http://www.youtube.com/rednationonlinetv Finally a HUGE thank you to all the viewers and readers. I am really glad this stuff is being well received back at home. I am going to be appearing on the Score radio to discuss the match at 12:30PM Eastern, you can listen here if you are interested: http://radio.thescore.com/ Signing off for now. Thanks again, MB
