Interview with Carolina Morace

Good catch hc1.

Yes short, sweet and confirming what we all suspected about her relationship with the U17 program. Good to see she has the "balls" to take a non-BR player and also the foresight to invite younger (U17) players to give them an advance taste of the senior side.

No comment on her apparent frustration for not being able to get another game in at home... must be a real pain for a a NT coach

This article has a place in “The “mess” that CM inherited” thread.

I agree. Good article. It would be nice to see more commentary from CM. As the HC for the women's program, I think she is entitled to more commentary about how the women’s program is supported by the CSA and how other nations are building their women’s program under one HC (U17 through senior). She is the spokes person; the public face! It’s her neck.

And what a trooper she is isn't she? She’ll do what she can to involve promising youth players into her camps with the U20, senior teams. What else can she do? Quit? The CSA has given the national U17 program to the OSA right from under her nose because BR stepped up and committed to do the job for free! Hey what a deal for the CSA. The U17 National program becomes the OSA provincial program over night and the only qualified Head Coach in the country under contract is boxed out of participation. And the result was............

I’d be surprised if she sticks around after her contract expires.

I'm not sure if you guys have seen this, but there are a few notes from a previous article that you might be interested in. http://allwhitekit.com/2010/09/30/canada-vs-china-match-preview-and-notes/

-Melanie Booth, Kelly Parker, and Brittany Timko are currently battling some injuries.

-Several players have signed sponsorship deals with Umbro, including Stephanie Labbe, Kara Lang, Diana Matheson, Carmelina Moscato, Melissa Tancredi, Brittany Timko, and Emily Zurrer.

-I asked Carolina about the rumoured October friendly against South Africa and the not so delightful answer is: no, it’s not happening. She wanted a second home game this year but things didn’t work out (although she didn’t specify if negotiations about playing in Canada happened with other teams in addition to South Africa).

-The team will head into residency camp if they qualify for the 2011 WWC. Specific dates and location(s) are not yet known.

-Qualifying will also possibly mean two home friendlies right before the World Cup. There’s also a good possibility that Vancouver will be at least one of the sites. Don’t forget that Canada will also host Germany in the latter part of 2011.

Why doesn't someone from Voyageurs interview her? Perhaps a senior member? Why can't she have a voice here?
