Vic
Just wanted to start this up and take a moment to commend Richard Scott and the CSA for their great website promo of the event. And to Diamond Simpson, Amélia Pietrangelo and Rachelle Beanlands for their introduction to the senior side. The game is a #13 (Canada) v. #14 (China). With Canada's 1946 ranking points to #12 Australia's 1949, a win should well move us up over the Aussies who have been dormant since May. Tickets start at $15 from Ticketmaster and television coverage is Sportsnet East and Ontario. Game time is 7:30 EST. Jeremy
Maybe I can make it to Toronto... hope so. Anyway if I can't I'll be watching.
Soccer9
Was watching the Toronto FC game this evening on GolTV and thought they would show the WNT team being presented to the crowd at half time, but did not see it. Had a little piece on Kara Lang promoting the game on Thursday though. Yes pretty cool that Morace invited 3 17 year olds to gain some international experience ( one of them not a BR pick...). Good mid-long term planning.
Sam
Disappointed I couldn't get up to Toronto for this match - but those who are going. Enjoy yourself and give our girls the support they deserve

Sam
Is there a second match with China later on? Wasn't there talk of a game against South Africa potentially as well? Would love to get a chance to watch the girls at some point this year. I bet they'd sell out Richardson again - just saying
Sam
Don't know if this video has already been posted on here but this is a video made just by the team to promote the game. Nothing to do with the CSA or anything this is just them on their own free time - pretty cool and worth checking out

paul-collins
Is there a second match with China later on? The original rumour was a first match before (ie Sunday 26) but they trained together instead. China is US-bound for this weekend.
Soccer9
Actually they did play on Sunday, closed door game. Not sure of result though.
Razcle
^ Not to hijack this WNT thread but I am suprised that the men don't double up their friendlies with whomever the US are playing days later/earlier. Would cut down significant travel expenses for the CSA and we can Piggyback on the US like we are knows to do from time to time

squizz1402635577
Not specifically related to the China game, but I did get a chance to speak to Christine Sinclair and Karina LeBlanc in the lead-up: http://canadiansoccerblog.ca/2010/09/29/a-big-red-sea-change-is-upon-us/ LeBlanc also tried to enlist me in a prank on Morace, but sadly, that effort was scuttled. Lord Bob
1-0 Canada leads in the I-can't-read-Chinese-th minute: goal from Diana Matheson on her second chance after a nice piece of passing skill from Canada. After starting with next to no possession in the first ten minutes or so, Canada has grabbed this game by its delicate little throat and is shaking it like hell. Vic
Well Joe, she kept the game even when the defense had a world class cluster and let the winger break in completely alone on her and she parried over the net on a great save from a pretty good lob. Let's just say she's not the only one with a mistake out there, and leave it at that. Not sure what's wrong with Parker, but too bad whatever it is, her style and runs out of the middle would have completely changed the game. Nice touch by Belanger. Shannon Rosenow, now there's a blast from the past. And my God, what the hell happened to China?

The Ref
It seems that the team is finally showing something different under CM. I saw good movement, speed, heads up play, players moving around and not fixed to just a comfort zone. I was glad to see Matheson being given more of a forward role. I always thought she is better up front than midfield. I was impressed too by Kyle, she showed a lot of intensity but tired for while and then came back again. The low point in the game I thought was LeBlanc, not so much because of her blunder, but she looked unsure and hesitant in the control of her area. I think her performance has also gone down with her WPS team. We need to discover a new goalkeeper.
