Joe Keeper
After seeing todays game I have no doubt in my mind as to who TFC's real designated player should be. To heck with all the big money transfer talk. If we are truly serious about turning this club around, and building a title winner eventually, get this guy locked up for 3-5 years with some DP money! If money isnt available because of our other DP's, change that and soon!
BringBackTheBlizzard
Can see where you are coming from but given he has a Swiss passport which basically opens up all of western Europe to him without the need for a work visa I don't think there's much doubt that he will be heading overseas. TFC/MLS probably won't wait for him to be able to do it on a Bosman free transfer at the end of his Generation Adidas deal if a big money offer is made in the next transfer window. Razcle
Disagree. I love Frei as a keeper and he has been magnificent for us this season, however with a more solid defensive system, we shouldn't need Stefan Frei to be our reason for success in the MLS. We should be able to use a Jon Busch or even a Jon Conway to win games for us and get us into the MLS playoffs.
Obinna
If anyone should be a DP it is DeRosario. Frei is a good keeper but NO WAY is he DP material.

I'm just going to sit back and enjoy watching his remaining performances with the team and cheer him on when he goes on to much greener pastures. He owned Geovanni yesterday with two top drawer saves.
Richard
Judging from the team's performance I don't think any of the players have earned a raise. How many forum members here who consistently fail to achieve their work objective still get a pay rise or promotion?

Of all the players on TFC Frei, Attakora, Cann and Dero have performed and achieved and exceeded their work objectives repeatedly despite other high paid co-workers stinking the joint out. I can think of a lot of TFC players who fall into the failure or marginal but those 4 have come through repeatedly. If not for those 4 TFC would be fighting it out with DC for league doormat. I think Barrett also had an excellent season. On another forum someone posted the TFC with and without him and the difference is impressive. If I'm not mistaken Chad and DeRo have a similar goal per minutes ratio. As for Frei, Richard I'm not sure what's your assessment of the "Swiss keeper" but he is going to Europe next season and he's easily been TFC best player and also very constant with his performances. Yes this year Chad has added himself to that list. He has been injured so I missed him on the list. That makes 5 players who show up and perform game in and game out. Yea I think Frei is gone after his contract is done. He will make a lot more in Europe and has the citizenship already.

How many forum members here who consistently fail to achieve their work objective still get a pay rise or promotion? This is not a logical argument. If a forward scores 20 goals while making the league minimum, is in the last year of his contract, and his team also fails to make the playoffs, would you still argue he does not deserve more? Should he stay at the league minimum? I'm sure numerous MLS GM's would disagree with you and offer him plenty more.

It's not a Team salary raise, it's an individual raise so only taken into acounnt is individual performance, Can DeRo do anything about Garcia's inept first touch, No, Can he do anything about OBW missing the net fromt he 6 yard box, No. All he can do is perform to the best of his abilities, and from what I've seen of TFC games he is one of the few that has justified his salary, and even played above it.
