dyslexic nam
^^ That was a major influence on the way things unfolded. Garcia out of gas late in the second and nothing we could do about it.
jpoma
This was a big point for TFC. IF they lost, they surely would have been virtually eliminated from the tournament. Now they have 2 home games, and they win them both, they will definitely increase their chances. Tough to say if they get in for sure though due to all the possible permutations. bgnewf
Alive And Kicking http://viewfromthesouthstands.com/2010/09/alive-and-kicking/ TFC pulls off an upset once again against Cruz Azul in the CONCACAF Champions League and is still in with a chance. I break down the math for TFC to qualify plus I vent once again about the gouging of TFC fans by MLSE. Comments are always welcome and appreciated. paul-collins
Incidentally the official odds on how Paul James will take a shot at De Guzman and De Rosario for tonight's performance have just been released: Surprisingly, no mention at all of JdG, and praise for DeRo's silky touch, Daso's tactics and the team's response to Daso. http://www.theglobeandmail.com/sports/soccer/james-on-soccer/toronto-fc-grind-out-a-result/article1719011/ I find nothing to argue with here, even the muted praise for Garcia. Gian-Luca
Surprisingly, no mention at all of JdG Not that surprising to me - it was the one option I deliberately left out of my "odds" post because I thought it would be too obvious, coming from the "if you can't say something negative about a person, then don't say anything at all" school of journalism. A case of damning with faint (non-existent) praise? JDG was at worst the second-best outfield player in that match. No reason to mention him at all...
