Mr.Impact
2 more goals for Ali G. in a 3-0 victory. The win goes along way in securing up a playoff spot for Montreal. Player Evaluations; Mat Jordan: Made 9 stops, to earn his 5th shut out of the season. Came up big when he had to, but did his best work in organizing his back 4. Braz: Was given the one finger salute, by a Tampa player that was sent off. Was a little less involved in the build up today, but took care of business in his end. Has got to be the most hated player in the league, but I'm sure opposing coaches would love to have him on their side. Pizzolitto: Solid performance from the skipper. It helps when you're leading the same back line, for consecutive games. Aaboubou: Has been showing signs of fatigue, having passed the 2000 minute mark for the season, but always manages to make the right decision when needed. Billy: More heralded for his offensive skills, but is rarely beaten one on one. Seems to have found his place as a left back, after spending much of the season on the right side. Worked well with DiLoenzo on the counter. Donatelli: Scored his 4th penalty conversion of the year. Worked well to set up the play that caused the penalty, and was precise in his passing. Testo: Did his best work has recuperator, but left the bulk of the distribution to the other mids. Still believe he's capable of much more. Ribeiro: Hasn't played one bad game since his return to Montreal, and today was no exception. Tireless worker, who could exploit weaknesses by his vision, or speed. DiLo: Nice to see him take corners, as he picked up his 6th helper of the season on Ali's first of the match. Set up numerous scoring chances, and missed one himself off a header in the opening minutes of the match. Sebrango: The veteran has found chemistry with Ali G, but couldn't finish today. He would have buried at least three of those chances in his hay day. Provided great entertainment none the less in one sequence which involved a clearance off the line, a crossbar (Al iG), and a tremendous save off the rebound (Sebrango). Ali G: Tallied two more, making it 9 goals in 11 games. Sometimes he makes it seem so easy, it's like he's playing against boys. His second was a work of art, and a goal scorers goal. He needs very little space to finish. Wouldn't be surprised to see him moving ... again! Honorable Mentions: To both Anthony Le Gall, and Rich Pelletier. They both struggled when they arrived from France, but seem more comfortable, and contribute despite the limited amounts of playing time

Like I said in the MNT thread about Ali: Just what you would expect from a player who is playing one (or 2) levels down. Domination and if not scoring at will then certainly at a bloody frightening pace. What I find impressive are the other parts of his game. Pass receiving, play making etc are all there. I can't wait for next game. Caps vs Impact. Going to be a good one.
Keano
I would have rated Aboubou slightly higher, although it's just words not a number rating that you are giving. I thought other than an awkward first 2 touches, he then went on to have a dominant game, competing succesfully for each ball, coming out of danger with the ball on his foot and his head up, and leaving three Tampa forwards wounded on the pitch (at different times). Kik-d-bol
Attended this game and thoroughly enjoyed the action. The game had everything, even a penalty. That one sequence mentioned by Mr.Impact at the top of the thread was something to witness. I noticed that the Rowdies defender tried to goaltend (with his hands) on Ali's shot, but instead the ball hit the crossbar. I wonder if this is a new trend since the World Cup. Mentioned to Ali on the way out that he played a great game and he gave a thumbs up. First time at Saputo for me. Drove in from Ottawa just for the game because the forecast was calling for a 3 - 0 win, I mean, for a beautiful sunny September day. Makes me wish we had a pro team in the Nat Cap.
