Not Expecting Miracles - TFC v Houston Pre Game

With a lack of international callups until Chivas away, no key players suspended and Barret and Santos coming back from injury there is every reason to expect an improvement in performance over the next five games regardless of who the coach is. Earlier this season "Mo's and Preki's team" were able to accumulate points at a rate that would have ensured playoff qualification if it had been sustained so the talent is in place to be highly competitive against MLS opposition (Cruz Azul away is potentially a different story) when close to the full roster is available. Suggesting otherwise is an exercise in revisionism. Houston are one of the weakest teams in MLS this season so this game should be a prime opportunity to pick up three points on the road if Nick Dasovic is actually the answer as head coach moving forward. No excuses accepted it's time for the team to go out and get the job done. Many/most should view it as a case of playing to save their TFC and in some cases MLS careers.

And suddenly DeRosario starts scoring goals again. Why am I not surprised. Great to get the three points but if DeRo deliberately downed tools on Preki and Mo because a second DP was brought in he should be moved on in the off season. You would need to be in the dressing room to know what happened on that one.

Thats a hard-lined allogation to make against our captain. I hope it is not the case. He has generally always been our hardest worker on the pitch, night in and out. Maybe he was trying too hard under Preki when Mista was briught in. Cause he appeared to be just out of sync, especially with Barrett out.

Maybe Barrett is our lynch pin?

I'm not in a position to make an allegation as indicated by the last sentence. It's more speculation about what may have caused his prolonged dip in form brought on by frustration at not seeing him strike a ball like that for what seems like a very long time. Hopefully he keeps it going now through to the end of the season. Playoff qualification is still a longshot but strange things happen at the end of MLS seasons sometimes. Regardless of what happens on that the entire TFC team have a lot to play for right now given the uncertainty over who will be coach next season. Think that reality sunk in at halftime hence the improved second half performance. In DeRosario's case it boils down to showing he still has what it takes to be an impact player in the league so he can keep making the big bucks into his mid-30s. Worth bearing in mind that he'll be 33 next season.

That may not technically be an allegation, in the vein that Glenn Beck doesn't make allegations, just repeats them and says "I wouldn't know so I can't say" after saying it.

It's like saying "I never saw you beat your wife, so I can't confirm you've stopped."
