DJT
Guidelines for this thread In this thread post match updates on all Canadians abroad for September 3-9, 2010. If you find updates posted in some other thread or on the other Voyageurs forum then post them here as well, but be sure to credit the original poster. If there is news that is particularly significant (eg. someone scores a big goal, someone gets injured, etc.) then feel free to begin a new thread on that topic in order to draw greater attention or start a discussion, but also post that news here. Some comments on news posted in this thread are okay, but let's not let this thread go off into a long discussion. If the news already appears in another thread (as per the previous bullet) then post your comments in that other thread, otherwise if you want to say something significant or if it is likely to generate replies then begin a new thread. nolando
Ornoch just scored as BV Veendam are up 1-0 on FC Emmen. I think that's his first competitive goal for almost 2 1/2 years going back to his time with Esbjerg. Good for him - I hope this move gets his career back on track. SthMelbRed
Czech 2nd division - Znojmo 1 Trinec 0 Cousens didn't play as Trinec lost again. I thought he was at Hlucen?
nolando
you know it's a slow day when... Jordan Webb scored the second goal (and his second in a week, from midfield no less) as his Sengkang Punggol drew 2-2 away to Home Utd in S-League action. No sign of Sherif El-Masri. FWIW, Webb is his team's top scorer with 8 goals. He's 22 and 182 cm tall. I once laughed off a certain young Canadian's prospects during his time in the S-League, that is before Issey Nakajima rose to greener pastures in Europe and became one of my favourite MNT players. If we are looking under rocks for midfielders (and it seems we are given recent call-ups), guys like Webb and Frank Jonke might just show up at some point. nolando
^ Quite a whiff by the defender but good composure shown by Ornoch to finish off the play.
mirokliment@shaw.ca
Czech 2nd division - Znojmo 1 Hlucin 0 Cousens didn't play as Trinec lost again. He was busy hooking up Ipod... Seriously this Hlucin thing is a bad idea for him, they have zero points after 5 games,he never plays, neither the first team or the reserves and that is not good for a young player like that. Loud Mouth Soup
David Hoilett played 74 minutes as Arsenal Reserves came back from 2-0 down just before half to defeat Blackburn Rovers Reserves 4-3 at Underhill. Nothing of note in the Blackburn report of the match regarding David. http://www.rovers.co.uk/page/ReserveNews/0,,10303~2147029,00.html
