coppercanuck
http://www.eastlink.ca/eltv/sportsboard/sportsschedule.asp The NSSL Premier Division men's and women's finals are coming up on Tuesday 17th of August. The women kick off at 6pm AT and the men at 8pm AT. The league is sponsored by the local EastLink cable. Be sure to tune in to see which NS teams will qualify for the Nationals. Better yet, if you are in Halifax, get over to the Mainland Common off Thomas Raddall Drive and support the highest level of soccer in the area. http://www.eastlink.ca/eltv/ELTV_WebCasting/ http://www.dunbracksoccer.ns.ca/ http://www.suburbanfc.ca/ http://nssoccerleague.ca/ The men's final will be contested between Suburban FC and Halifax Dunbrack. Dunbrack is coached by Alan Jazic. Suburban' stiker, Muset Mert, is the leagues leading goal scorer and MVP. The teams split the season series, each winning their home game. thescottc
Currently debating whether to play in my social league game tonight or go check out the finals. Mind you, if the weather keeps up I may end up doing neither. Either way, I'm predicting Suburban FC to win.

Vic
That's great, thanks so much for sharing that. We could do with a whole section dedicated to stuff like this.
thescottc
Watching the women's final right now on Eastlink. Just realized one of the ladies on the Cape Breton squad was a teacher I had in high school - in Ontario!
Vic
Wasn't one of the womens teams from Dartmouth and the other from the Annapolis Valley? And speaking of high school, one the two winning goals in the final was scored by a high school junior.
thescottc
Wasn't one of the womens teams from Dartmouth and the other from the Annapolis Valley? And speaking of high school, one the two winning goals in the final was scored by a high school junior. That was the third-place game. Final was Dunbrack vs. Cape Breton. In the men's final, Dunbrack had a 17-year-old starting as Centre Mid and there was a lot of talk about how there has been a youth movement in the NSSL this year. The average age of both teams was under 25. Some good young talents in there for sure. I was most impressed by Suburban's Ian Greedy as well as the Cordoba brothers from Dunbrack and their goalie Ben Ur.
Vic
Thanks for the update. Youth is much more common in women's than men's, a 17yr old boy in the middle in nationals will be interesting. Congrats to Dunbrack for the sweep.

robdiamondpresents
I remember watching In Greedy in the Canada Games last summer, and he was extremely impressive. If you look at the CSA u21 profiles online, NS has something like 10 players listed, so their youth NTC is definitely starting to pay off.
