and the nightmare continues...

At some point, one has to ask themselves " What's not working?". He has done the loan thing, he has swapped teams etc.... I am wondering aloud if maybe he is his own problem. Is there something he could change in himself that could elevate him to the next level. Attitude, training, health and diet? His time is slowly running out if he wants to make an impact and play at the highest level.

-Issey was out injured for Horsens' 0-0 draw with Randers.

-Bernier subbed into Nordsjælland's 3-1 loss with Brondby. He came on min 57 when N. were losing 1-0

-Monsalve back to the bench as Inter Turku lost 3-2 to KuPS

-Ricketts played all of a 1-1 MyPa draw with JJK Jyväskylä. He's finally getting lots of regular minutes.

- Ademolu had a few good scoring chances as his Ekranas won 2-1 over Siauliai and they continue to lead the Lithuanian league by sizable ten point spread.

- Haugesund beat Valerenga 2-0 with both Canadians playing. Has Poz earned some respect with the MNT set-up, I wonder? He's getting on in age but could be a useful utility sub if the squad gets thin due to injuries, etc.

- Imhof seems to have lost his starting spot at St. Gallen. He was a 80th min sub in 3-0 loss to Thun

3-1 road win for ITFC. Has Peters always worn number 2 or is this his new squad number for this season?

Nope new number for this season and I took it as a sign he was embracing the right back role. Sounds like he erred on the first goal and wasn't particularly sharp, but got better as the game went on. Right back is a problem spot for Ipswich and I think he'll get an opportunity to stake his claim to the position.

cheers,

matthew

I think this is great, given that Holt started the game, Simeon will probably have the next one since it's in only 4 days.

Hey Sigma,

Andrew trained with the A-Team and played with both the B-Team and the U-19 teams. You know what is going on with the Bohemians' issues and the law suits aren't over regarding Bohemians 1905...It's true that Bohemians Praha FK got a huge fine for refusing to play B-1905 and therefore it relegated them to Czech Football League, which is the 3rd League, however, their cadre stayed almost the same as from Gambrinus Liga last year,so they will be back up again.

As far as Andrew is concerned, for him to play in the A-Team in CFL is the absolutely best place as they compete vs. almost all Gambrinus Liga Reserve Team{some are lower}...Including Slavia Prague,Mlada Boleslav etc...He turned 19 in June and by the time he'll be 20/21 he'll be in the Gambrinus Liga...At least.

They book him on the roster as Czech National, since he has a dual citizenship as there are stringent restrictions on foreign and non-EU players in CFL...

He did go to Holland with the U-20 Team in May as he does have Canadian citizenship as well.

I am surprised something like that would be legal in the competition. It would be hard to stop if everyone stayed quiet and he just didn't play but am surprised that the manager actually said this. I don't think it ever should be legal for transfer agreements to specify when and against whom a player can play. If he was already cap tied in the competition that would be another thing entirely.

Martin John, a Cinderella story out of Ottawa, is apparently playing LB in the Carling Cup for Cardiff vs Pesch's Burton Albion:

Nice story indeed. Never been on the radar and is now starting a Carling Cup game for a Championship club. Let's hope he gets some PT this year or gets a loan deal to get used to the pro level.

He is injured I believe.

He played today with U23s (reserves?):

The second team of FC Augsburg celebrated on Wednesday evening in the regional league south a 6:1 (5:0) runaway victory in the derby with FC-Affing. For the first time for the FCA in action here was professional newcomer Marcel de Jong, from the doctors of the Hessingpark Clinic in the morning "green light" had received after his shoulder surgery.

As well as an excerpt from the post-match article

"The English-born 22-year-old, who grew up in Canada, had obviously impressed Jones on trial.

John remains an unknown quantity having played at college level in America for the University of Buffalo, New York and having a spell in club football in Argentina.

But he cut a tall, elegant figure on the pitch here, even if he had his work cut out having to deal with the speedy Gregg Pearson.

The former West Ham trainee is already a Brewers legend having scored their first ever Football League goal, but John made a reasonable fist of dealing with him. But for all Burton’s early bluster it was the Bluebirds who dictated matters."
