jpg75
Sherif El-Masri has left Young Lions: http://sleague.com/news-features/news/2013/january/aide-seeks-patience-for-new-look-young-lions "Canadian winger Sherif El-Masri and the French duo of Sirina Camara and Jonathan Toto – have been released to leave Aide with an all-local playing setup." Young Lions is a de facto Singapore U23 side with foreigners included only when they are expected to naturalise after four years of residency. I wonder if he balked based on pressure to play for Singapore, as he was just in the Canadian set-up last year. He is ineligible to switch as he was not eligible for Singapore when he played for Canada.
nolando
He is ineligible to switch as he was not eligible for Singapore when he played for Canada. Yes, you're right, of course. I wonder what they were doing with him in the first place, especially with such a definitive purpose set for the club.
VPjr
Thanks, but going by this news, it seems like Suta signed with Sv Fortuna Regensburg in the 6th tier: http://www.mz-kick.de/index.cfm?pid=13498&lid=0&cid=0&tid=0&pk=876377 yes....that is where he will play for the rest of this year. Jahn Regensburg sent him down there to get game action and find his fitness. The plan is to fight for a spot with the first team for next season. north219
Srdjan Gajic reports on his Facebook page that he was signed with SSV Jahn Regensburg. No official confirmation but would be very surprised if it isn't true. Suspect he will play for their U23 team in the Bayernliga South (Tier 5). https://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/Srdjan-Gajic-Official-Fan-Page/183765378322359

Grizzly
Dont know where to post. But are we aware of Ricardo Ferreira playing at empoli on loan from Milan. Canadian born currently tied to Portugal. Yes we are aware of Ferreira. Since we don't have a Traitorous Bastards forum if you absolutely have to post about him do it in the World section. Preferably don't post about him at all, he doesn't merit being discussed here just like he does not merit his Canadian citizenship.
Ivanovski94
Now I don't want to slap our Canadian pride but our multicultural mosaic BS that we love so much is at fault for Canadians growing up feeling as another nationality. at least in the Toronto area. If I ever said I was Canadian people would ask how and state how I can't be Canadian because of my race or lastname. If it's so important to know we need to change the people's mentality on how to phrase the question to, what my parents or what my backround is not where I am from. Most of us immigrant youth or of immigrant parentage are asked where WE are from even if, like me they are born and raised Canadian can't speak their mother tongue good properly and never been to their parents homeland ever. This builds a pride in a country many have little connection with and in most cases don't even have nationality of. side note I do have duel citizenship even though Ive never been to Uruguay. Yeah I wanted it in men's team forums though, because he's a potential prospect, and didn't exactly want to create a new thread just for this. nolando
This seems to confirm that Igor Pisanjuk is at second tier Vasas FC until the end of the summer after impressing while on trial. Our boys abroad seem to specialize in finding parts with these sorts of clubs that are on the cusp of being a promotion team, either that or very nearly relegated. He seemed to be doing well at his last side in the top tier and I can't help but be disappointed to find him plying his trade there, despite it apparently being the first time in their history for Vasas to be playing in the Hungarian second division. http://www.vasasfutballclub.hu/hirek/igor_pisanjuk_lett_a_vasas_legujabb_jatekosa-
shaku_bert
Maybe I don't know how to use the search function on this site but I can't find any reference to this player in this thread so here is another Canadian prospect playing abroad: http://www.colocolo.cl/equipos/formacion/sub-13/ Diego Reveco is born in Winnipeg Yeah, 13 is pretty young but I figured why not throw it out as Colo Colo are one of Chile's biggest teams. The mom and dad tag team living in Chile with him but the dad might be there full time now.

As a '99 he's eligible for the next U17 cycle and is technically a U14 (they haven't updated their website i would assume)...unfortunately if he's really good he'll end up playing for Chile. Addona
Not sure if it's already been mentioned, but it seems like Joseph Di Chiara is now with Torpedo Moskva, a Russian first-division side. Perhaps someone else knows more about what kind of level this is, but hopefully he gets some minutes. Yes, correct, 2nd level. I don't really know how it compares to Hungary TBH, but he wasn't getting any minutes there, so hopefully he can get on the pitch at least! Grizzly
Not sure if it's already been mentioned, but it seems like Joseph Di Chiara is now with Torpedo Moskva, a Russian first-division side. Perhaps someone else knows more about what kind of level this is, but hopefully he gets some minutes. Edit: Link to his transfermarkt page: http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/en/joseph-di-chiara/profil/spieler_181116.html I follow the Russian first division (actually they changed the name this year to National Championship Football League) which is the Russian second tier since unfortunately my team Shinnik Yaroslavl has been playing there since their last relegation in 2008. It has a pretty good level of play (been to quite a number of games live and usually watch the highlights of most Shinnik games) and is a very professional league since the teams are all very motivated to promote into the big money Russian Premiership. From the little of what I have seen of the Hungarian league on video and also judging by the large number of not so good Canadian players that managed to play in that league (who I don't think would have been good enough for the Russian first division), I would say this is a better league than the NB1 of Hungary especially after you get past the top couple of Hungarian teams and look at the level of the mid and lower level teams. Torpedo Moscow is one of the traditional big Russian/Soviet teams with a great history but a very turbulent one for the last two decades. At times there were actually two Torpedo Moscows both playing in the RPL causing a divided fan base, debate over which was the real Torpedo and lots of financial problems for both teams resulting in various bankruptcies, refoundings and playing in the lower divisions. Now there is only one Torpedo and they have worked their way back to the first division. This is their 2nd year in the first division and they finished a respectable 8th last year but this year they are 13th in the 17 team league one point ahead of my Shinnik and two points out of the relegation zone. As a good Shinnik fan I absolutely hate all the Moscow teams but Torpedo is probably the least objectionable of a bad lot! And their fans stuck with them through the low divisions so respect for that. I saw Torpedo play live against Shinnik a couple of times in the good old days when both were in the RPL. I think we all expected DiChiara to get a lot more playing time in Hungary than he did given he was considered one of Samara's best reserve players and even played in 5 RPL matches. However, sometimes there is a lot more involved in getting playing time than just ability and who knows what happened at KTE behind the scenes. The positive thing about this transfer is not only is it a transfer to a team that is as good or in my opinion probably better than KTE, but he is listed right away as part of their first team unlike KTE who put him to the reserve team. I also looked at their last two friendly games and in the last game he played the entire second half and the previous game he played the entire first half so it looks like he is definitely in their plans (both games they changed most of the team at the half). They also signed him to a contract until May 2016 so they must think he has some potential. BTW the league does not start play until mid March so I haven't been following things so much so a good catch by Addona on this transfer. Below are links from Torpedo's website to his profile and the announcement of his signing (all in Russian). http://fc-tm.ru/team/composition/item/1564-dzhozef-dikyara http://fc-tm.ru/component/k2/item/1563-dzhozef-dikyara-prodolzhit-kareru-v-torpedo-moskva
