However, that does not appear to be the case here as this team plays in CONADEIP: Founded in 1977, the National Commission Collegiate Athletics of Private Institutions (CONADEIP) is composed of 128 schools and universities settled throughout 16 states in Mexico. Over 15,000 student athletes participate in 13 different sports, both male and female, while complying with the organization’s and institutions’ commitment to academic development. In other words it appears that he has stopped playing professionally and is attending a private university and playing on their soccer team. Grizzly
Nana to re-sign with SJ? (I hope not, personally): http://www.mercurynews.com/earthquakes/ci_19880147 I don't see anything negative about him re-signing with San Jose. MLS is a similar playing level to B2 and SPL and unlike them is also improving in playing level. Europe has some advantages but neither of the teams he was trialing with were ideal situations. Union wanted him as backup and as a future player when their current defenders were too old while Hibs is in serious relegation danger. San Jose was always interested in re-signing him as was Winter/TFC and his desire to go to Europe probably coupled with a feeling that he was lowballed for a few years by MLS led to his problems with Winter and to SJ leaving him unprotected in the expansion draft. His agent probably could have found him some better situations to trial but those things are also probably a lot more complicated than we realize. At this point Nana is out of contract and not in a bad position to finally get a decent contract from SJ/MLS. And if he can stay healthy he will probably get a lot of playing time. I don't see a negative in that.
