Begovic lets in 5

I thought I'd start a thread about that, but he wasn't worth the effort. He had more goals allowed than saves, 5 goals allowed against 2 saves and I don't think he's that great or that he has potential to be a great keeper. IMO, he will never be called again for Bosnia. I won't deny he did well in FA Cup for Portsmouth but in the EPL it's another story. He I remember he gave 4 goals against Man U., making 1 save only and gave another 4 against Arsenal as well, making 2 saves.

Well im here just to smack a little bit of sense into you guys before you start to say the Bosnian NT is bad, Yea vs sweden we played a totally different squad on the field our CB's played on the LB, RB position switching ppl around to see who can work good on the LB position, Begovic did great to tell you, he made about 4 very very great saves. As for Germany hey im not dissapointed at all, Germany beat Argentina 4-0 and We netted in 1 and only lost by 2. I imagine Canada's NT vs Germanys A squad like vs Bosnia. Ouch!

My enduring memory of Begovic will always be sitting in Commonwealth Stadium at the 2007 world u20's and watching him leave his penalty area and grab that ball with both hands well outside the box to the groans and disbelief of the crowd.

Me too. Just watching him run way out to deal with a long ball, and then it bounced over his head...

Apparently Begovic is heading to Chelsea from Stoke City for 4.5 million pounds.

Edin - please, tell me how you'd feel if a Bosnian lad played in a world cup for your country, featured in an ADIDAS commercial for Bosnia and was captain of Bosnia, declared is allegiance and then BOLTED! How would you feel???

To be honest, I am glad he's gone! Kids a prat, and now Stoke is learning that too. He'll go to Chelsea where he'll never play barring injury and even then it'll be a "crisis! Please let us sign a replacement so we don't have to play our #3!"

I wish Begovic, the star of Riding the Pine F.C., a long and prosperous career in the Reserve Divisions of Europe.

For one he never played in your A squad it was your U-21 squad so yea. But to answer your question, Bosnia has had plenty of talents that had chosen different countries over Bosnia, such as Marco Marin, Dario Srna, Mladen Petric, Vedran Corluka, Dejan Lovren, and the list can go for ages. Now do you see me complaining about that or any other Bosnia in this country about those players? No. But you guys are complaining over ONE player leaving your squad, thats ridiculous. Hes not going to Chelsea since Stoke dont want to let him go so yea.

I know I shouldn't reply but ....

You're kidding me right? I looked up the names you've mentioned and none of them match the circumstances surrounding Begovic:

Marco Marin: A JDG2-like situation - moved to Germany at a young age, subsequently played in the German youth system. Wikipedia claims that he claims he never received a Bosnia callup.

Dario Srna: Born in Croatia (albeit a bordertown), played for Croatia. I don't get it. His father is Bosnian, but there should be no complaint here.

Mladen Petric: Born in a bordertown. Moved to Croatia at a very young age (and then on to Switerland), always in the Croatian system.

Vedran Corluka: Also born in a bordertown. Moved to Croatia at the age of eight, always in the Croatian system.

Dejan Lovren: Born in the heart of BH. I have no idea when he moved to Croatia, but he has always been in their system.

None of these players played for Bosnia at any level (using up development resources), nor did they let themselves (to my knowledge) be promoted via commercials, etc. as a Bosnian player, nor did they tell the media (to my knowledge) that they would play for Bosnia and that rumours of them playing elsewhere were false.

Marco Marin- Born in BiH meaning hes bosnian and opted to play for Germany when he could of also played for us but didnt receive the call up.

Srna- Now he didnt play for our U-... Squads but he does have a bosnian connection, does Begovic have a canadian connection AT ALL? Answer that, family wise.

Mladen Petric- Born in BRCKO a very known city in BiH, but opted to play for Croatia, exactly..

Dejan Lovren- Born in ZENICA, the second most known city in BiH, but also opted to play for Croatia.

Vedran Corluka- Born also, guess where? Bosnia. Again could of played for us if they all had waited a bit but since we have an corrupt FA we didnt give them a call up.

I never said that they played for our Under .. squads. All i said is that we had talents that were born in Bosnia but chose a different country...

Also why the hell are you guys hooked on these commercials, who gives an ass about an commercial a player is featured in honestly... Its like Cocaine to you guys and your an addict, geez
