powerof11
It hasn't always been easy to be a soccer fan in Canada. The mainstream media has often all but ignored the sport and many of the top Canadian sports analysts have been downright antagonistic towards it. Hockey continues to dominate the headlines and mainstream media and it likely will for many years to come. While some 80 per cent of Canadians watched part of the recent Olympic hockey final, fans of the Canadian Men's National Team had to listen to a Jamaican radio feed on the Internet in order to follow the action for Canada's recent friendly against Jamaica. At the same time, it is not difficult to understand where Major League Soccer Commissioner Don Garber was coming from when said that Toronto has the potential to become a soccer epicenter. http://www.rednationonline.ca/Canada_on_the_Cusp_of_a_Golden_Era_of_Soccer_apr_2_10_article.shtml
