EdinDzeko9
I know most of you guys want this due o the fact of Begovic leaving. Here's an article in Bosnian but I'll run it through a translator. KANADA POSLJEDNJA OPCIJA Piše: A. Beganović Srijeda, 17.02.10. 09:02. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Author: A. beachesl
Actually, we would prefer to see Assmear Begabitch suffer a life-ending injury. However, thanks for the tip...any friendly would be welcome for C anada, but most of us never want to see that traitor play again. Cheers!
ChrisB
Actually, we would prefer to see Assmear Begabitch suffer a life-ending injury. ! Ummm.. a little harsh. I don't want him dead or injured, myself.

EdinDzeko9
To be honest, I'm stoked that Bosnia might play Canada in Sarajevo. It be really exciting to see how a North American team plays comparing to an European team. On the plus side we would be able to try out some of our premier league player! My father-in-law read the article for me - being from Bosnia. Bosnia wishes to play Saudi Arabia, and Canada is a second (or last) option to play in Sarajevo if the others can not be arranged. "Slim chance of it happening" he told me.

BringBackTheBlizzard
Thanks for the info. Seems a bit short notice to be arranging this now if this is for the March 3rd FIFA calendar date. Given both teams are building for the future at this point I suspect Canada might also play some younger less experienced players if this game happens. masster
Hart said on Full-Time that he did not expect a March friendly because the break was too short. So do not count on this happening.

We've done enough for that place already, including training and supplying a National Team keeper, screw them! This would be a complaint about a goalkeeper of Bosnian Muslim ethnicity who was born in Bosnia to Bosnian parents opting to play for Bosnia at a time when the CMNT coach is publicly talking about poaching a Jamaican player born in Jamaica to Jamaican parents who has already played for Jamaica's national youth teams without even a murmur of protest on here? The double standards that some people have in these parts are enough to make your head spin at times.

Unless you can find a comment where gator says Canada should get O'Brian White you shouldn't loop him in as a double standard everyone has their own opinion. I want O'Brian White and I haven't complained about Begovic to Bosnia I have complained about Begovic, only because of his manner of dealing with it. If he had been upfront and said that he wanted to play for his homeland, fair enough. I would be disappointed, but whatevs.

Just to clarify my original response to Ed was mostly in reference to our Canadian soldiers' bloodshed in that war torn region, and yes I know politics and sport don't mix but whatever! As far as the traitor goes, I'm pissed because my tax dollars helped him develop, he did the addidas comercial saying how great a country Canada is and then bailed on us but as ChrisB points out, it was more the way in which he did it that angers me!And Bosnia cap tieing a GK in injury time! I stand by my comment that we have to play hard ball like everyone else and cap whoever we can, Marc Bircham was my hero! Other nations are entitled to feel the same way if we happen to poach a player who they have developed! And BBTB if this is a double standard to you, so be it, it's a Canadian soccer forum and we are all entitled to our opinions!

Because Keegan said "Unless you can find a comment where gator says Canada should get O'Brian White", and I found one just by clicking on your profile . That was nothing against your opinion. Anyways, I'm with ChrisB on this one, Begovic could've done that with more class but I can undertand his decision. Also, let me add that I don't blame Bosnia at all, they've played by the rules on this one. The problem is with FIFA rules that allows players to be "de-captied"..... jpg75
Begovics' ties to Canada were loose to begin with. It was Germany that welcomed his family originally during the conflict and it's where Asmir developed his game. His family has since gone back to the crap hole whence they came from and Asmir has followed. My only beef is that he took an opportunity away from David Monsalve to play at the U20 WC here at home. Edit: It should also be noted that under the new FIFA rules players like Begovic will no longer be able to play for us until they turn 23 and have lived for 5 consecutive years in Canada after the age of 18. Basically these young players will have to develop with TFC, Vancouver, Montreal or Edmonton.
EdinDzeko9
Frickin Bosniacs never keep their %^*&@# commitments!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Its not that Bosnia doesn't keep their commitments its that the FA doesn't keep its commitments! Our FA is basically waiting for a country to offer us a friendly with a Bonus (Money) for us to play them. Our FA is a Maia and only searches for money and doesn't care about the NT itself. CanadasBest
It's a shame that this game doesn't appear to be happening. I'd like to see us play Bosnia at some point. It would also be a decent home game too: If only we had the money to host a home game.
