Very Eurocentric, only a token nod to the Americas. Remember that many of these teams were beaten by the South Americans in the Intercontinental Cups.

And, what about Benfica with Eusebio in the 60's and the Ferencvaros Budapest club of the early 50's which was basically the dominant Hungarian national team of the time? Or Barcelona last year, that has acculmulated more real trophies in a year than any otherclub?

That said,in this biased, incomplete and unfair list, it has to be the last year of the 5 year (tho I hate Real) reign of RealMadrid, 1960.

gah, I wasn't even alive for half of the poll, and I hadn't even hit puberty for two more. In order to avoid being a pretentious liar, I hope you won't mind if I drop a couple noteworthy club seasons from my lifetime +ish (I've seen plenty of Maradona and Cruijff, but not to much older then mid 70's cruijff, I've seen documentarys and bio's on people like pele so I'm not completely ignorant but I just can't say too much).

I didn't see even half the games but I always thought that Arsenal's unbeaten season ranked right up there(despite the lack of a double that year). Any team Maradona was on, he wasn't always on the best team, but he's still the only individual player who could probably claim to ensure hardware no matter what kind of super team you made. And finally, this is me exxagerating because of my bias, but Betis, 04 05 came back to take a big dump on Sevilla and end top of the table (and by top of the table, I mean 4th, copa del rey too though), if you saw that season there was some fantastic football (denilson, joaquin, R olivera etc.. Assuncao apparently scored like 1/3 of his direct free kicks, and you think I'm exxagerating, but no, not really at all, maybe it was close to half) I only wish I spoke spanish well enough to make a great balompie pun, where the bal becomes sevilla's testicles. I think my main problem is to this day, if I see Real Madrid vs Barca on TV, well at first I'm gonna look for a sitcom cause both of them can go great eachother, usually if not too much is on I can get into it, but I'm probably never going to track any of the teams listed for a whole season, cept maybe liverpool.

I tend to agree with Beaches. There are some very good South American sides left out. The Sao Paulo sides of 1991-1993 are one example (two Copa Libertadores titles and two Intercontinental Club Cup titles plus a national title) and an arguement could be made for the Sao Paulo teams from 2005-2008. I leave it to Beaches to identify some Argentinian sides and I think there are a few (but the Boca Juniors sides from 2000-2003 had to be fairly good with three Copa Libertadores titles and two Intercontinental club cups).

I think probably the most dominating team might have been the 1992 Santos side. When you beat the Eusebio-led Benfica side twice in a two leg final with the final game a 5-2 win in Portugal, that's making a statement.

Can't say that list is well put together at all. The years don't even correspond properly to the dynasties, which often persisted beyond trophies, examples would be Sacchi's Milan or the early Real Madrid, or even isolating the Ajax side to that particular year. Nor does it include what would have to be the most influential teams in world football over recent decades at least, in terms of impact on play (the Barcelona Dream Team under Cruyff for example).

I would say none of the above as laid out.

I don't feel that I can even vote in this!!! I really only know the majority of these teams from the history books. Even Man Utd. 99, which was was able to watch a handfull of games, including the final. Likewise with the South American comments, I just don't know much about them.

I will however contest the point of Barcelona 2008-present isn't included. They are without a doubt the best team that I have ever seen in the 6 or 7 years I've been seriously watching the beautiful game, and they have the silverware to back it up.
