It is not bad, but I would say Oliver Kahn rather than Luigi Buffon, especially for his brilliant 20002 World Cup performance for which he won an unprecedented Golden Ball.

I think that Zidine and Maldini were both brilliant in the 90's, I question their being listed as among the best of the past decade. Perhaps Terry deserves a place.

There is no question about the Goalkeeper accolade.

Although there have been many good Keepers throughout the decade, there is only Buffon at that level and FIFA certainly recognize this...............

As much as I hate to say it, Henry was probably the most consistent player over the Decade. The likes of Zidane, Kahn, Ronaldo (Brazil), etc peaked early in the Decade.

I would argue that the best Keeper of the Decade wasn't Buffon or Kahn, but Van Der Saar. He maintained his high standards throughout the Decade. Lehmann, for all his moments of madness, had an excellent World Cup in 2006. Also his Penalty save against Riquelme in the European Cup Semi-Final will have him engraved in Arsenal folklore.
