Does anyone know when new Canada Jeseys come out?

I was looking at the "shop" on the CSA website and they are still out of the tred jerseys. Christmas is coming soon and i was going to ask for a red jersey for christmas because i only have a white jersey, they wonder why they dont have any money to use for the National Teams.

I am sure i can find a jersey somewhere else online or at a soccer shop but shouldnt i be able to get it from the offical CSA website?

sorry if this starts a discussion of frustration with the CSA but again I just wanted to see if anyoneone knew when the new jerseys come out.

Haven't we been with adidas for nearly 30 years? I wonder what changed?

Umbro was our jersey sponsor for a period of time in the '90s. Beyond that, I don't know what other jersey sponsors we've had. This change in jersey sponsorship is news to me, and I'm really interested in finding out who our new sponsor will be.

picture?!

They had three jersey's from what I remember. One was similiar to this jacket, except the jersey was white, not black. They made a really cool black jersey that had the crest of each Province in really faint squares.

Wasn't there a thread about 2-3 months ago that said we were getting Nike?

Umbro makes quality, durable jerseys. They don't wear that much. Adidas jerseys on the other hand fall apart pretty easily. Since Nike owns Umbro now, I wouldn't mind them taking over production.

Yeah it was rumored that CSA and Adidas were parting ways and Nike was coming on board. Fine with me. All the Adidas jerseys over the years and most have been extremely simplistic and ugly.

Now if we can start a petition for them to change that stupid logo. The one someone randomly designed on the board a while back was 10x better.

Nice! I like Nike a lot. Hopefully they make some great jersey.

Ok, I am by no means a design expert (although I’d love for somebody who is give their honest critique of it) but here it is:

- The drawing of the logo itself is jagged and poorly drawn. The lines aren’t particularly sharp and appealing, it looks like somebody drew this on Microsoft paint, in the lowest resolution the program would allow.

- It’s overly basic. It has three elements (a leaf, a soccer ball, and the word “Canada”). None of them are displayed in anything but the simplest format possible. There is nothing more than minimally inspiring about that. The soccer ball (which really is the least relevant thing here, because it’s only there underline it’s “soccer Canada”) is nearly 40% of the visual display. The maple leaf which is really what you should be focusing on is too small.

In general it’s spending all it’s energy telling you what it is, and none of it is really sending you a message. If you didn’t know it was the CSA’s logo you might think this was something from a community club, which again is an issue for an organization that it’s often derided as amateur in its approach.

Here’s a logo that incorporates basically all the same elements but actually does a good job:

Again, I hope someone somewhere with some expertise finds their way to this board and gives a straight forward professional answer on this.

The current CSA logo is crap. It's outdated, and completely uninspired. If there was some tradition to cling to, it could probably be salvaged by updating several of the design elements, but the whole ball/maple leaf thing has been done to death.

Without blowing my own horn too much, I believe both Jarrek and I had much better designs a few years ago during the phantom logo contest. Hell, I'd be willing to do a logo for the CSA for FREE just to give them a more professional and modern look.

Maybe I should post some more ideas. I haven't really been all that inspired since the "We got Jacked at the CONCACRAP Gold Cup 2007" t-shirt design contest...
