MLS playoffs:

Seattle 0 Houston 0 (Onstad and Hainault playing 90 min)

I watched the game on GolTV yesterday and I must say it was a pretty entertaining 0-0 draw. Hainault played very well at right back and made a couple of very nice defensive play on Zakuani. He also had an header going inches wide on the first corner kick of the game after only 2 min. I thought for a guy who lack speed in played within his limits and looked smart on the field.

Onstad had a good game as well, making a good save with 10-15 min to play on close range header. He was also yellow carded after knocking Freddy Montero on the floor (could've been a red TBH) after both players battled to get at the right end of a cross. I'm not sure why Pat lost it like that.

A agree with much of what loyola says about Hainault's performance. He probabaly should have done better on that header off the corner. It was the first real chance of the game and could have set the tone and taken the crowd out of the game early. Zakuani's pace caused Hainault trouble early but he adjusted well and didn't give him nearly as much space after that. The one thing that I did find surprising was that he was easily beaten a couple of times by Patrick Ianni when he was defending set pieces. I don't usually associate this with Hainault so perhaps it was just an off night in that regard.

Overall though, it was a decent performance.

Tampere United 1 - 1 Inter Turku

HT in the Finnish Cup, Monsalve in net for FC Inter.

I'm watching it here:

good feed.

Edit 2-1 Inter Turku with 10 min left. Monsalve just fumble a hard shot but was able to recover and kick the ball for a CK. He hasn't seen much action in the 2nd half.

Inter won. Congrats to David! He celebrated with a Canadian-Colombian flag!

Marcel de Jong went 90 minutes yesterday for Roda JC in a 2-1 loss to Eredivisie leaders FC Twente. Today, FC Utrecht were beaten 3-1 by Heracles Almelo, with Jacob Lensky going 90 minutes in a losing cause.

Speaking of Heracles, Andrew Ornoch has been involved in each of the last four matches with the reserves, all wins.

Canada MNT should have a reserve team....Ornoch seems highly effective with reserves teams [:P]

Some NCAA Div I news as Teal Bunbury is having a terrific season for Akron (16-0-0, ranked #1) and scored 2 goals in a 3-0 win over Penn State last week. Bunbury is leading is team with 14 goals and 3 assists. With a season like that he is probably a top MLS prospect at the moment.

Bunbury was named CSN National player of the week for his performance (second time this year):
